“After theatre”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 9, 2014

Originally went to G & B Oyster bar but it was too restrictive for my wife so we went next door (same Building-same owner) To Coconuts. Much broader menu plus you can order anything from G & B. Good food and good service. located on the Intracoastal waterway with plenty of out door seating. Also close proximity to the Hotels along the ocean.

“Great Dinner Pre-Cruise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 9, 2014

Stayed one night before our cruise and went for dinner here. Across the road from our hotel, The Courtyard Ft. Lauderdale Beach. Doesn't look like much from the street but walk to the back to find a nice casual restaurant on the intercostal waterway overlooking some pretty fancy yachts. Greeted at the door in a friendly professional manner and asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside. We chose to sit outside as it was a beautiful evening and we had left behind some cold weather in Canada. Our server was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. I had the crab cake salad and it was wonderful. My husband had the coconut shrimp platter which he thoroughly enjoyed. We shared a slice of Key Lime Pie but found it too tart for our taste and we don't like overly sweet desserts. There was a line at the door when we left and I can see why. I look forward to returning another time.

“Nice waterfront dining”

Coconuts is in a great location. A staple restaurant in Fort Lauderdale. The food is very average but it is worth the visit.

“Fun place to go”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2014

We hadn't been to Coconuts for quite a while and were pleasantly surprised by our visit. First of all the waitstaff is excellent - friendly, helpful, and they act like they enjoy their jobs. We went hoping for Happy Hour at 5 p.m. but the only specials were $1.. off beer and wine, and half priced appetizers. We ended up eating there and the prices were higher than I would have guessed for off season, but the food was good. We had the crab cake salad, coconut shrimp, green goddess salad with lots of lobster :) and the halibut. The crowd was friendly, but we were not happy with having smokers at our next table.
We enjoyed the view of the Intracoastal, but as the sun set the umbrellas and shades came down, blocking most of our view. We decided that next time we'll try for lunch.
