“Gem on the beach”

A truly great room and employees for a reasonable price. You won't be sorry. Upper floors offer more privacy and are less bothered by beach traffic using the gulf entrance. Quaint bar and restaurant serving more than generous fare.

Room Tip: Even the smallest room is a delight

I recently returned from my stay at the Sun Tower. The hotel itself was built in the 1950's and has gone through many updates since then. My room had a separate bedroom, kitchen and living area. The view from the balcony of the ocean was breathtaking. It was wonderful to have the beach steps away from the rooms. Everyone on the beach can have front row seating! I had breakfast at the restaurant which was overpriced--$5 for cranberry juice!?! The bagel I had was tasteless but the fruit bowl was nice. The location was excellent and in a safe area. You can have the pool virtually to yourself! The hotel seems like it caters more to an adult crowd and we didn't see too many kids staying here.

Room Tip: I recommend a room with a kitchen which also has a larger balcony.

We found this boutique hotel on the Hotel Tonight app. How lucky we were! It is very small (by Gold Coast standards) but every room is ocean front, extremely clean and spacious. To top it all off - there is an excellent restaurant on site - the Sandbar. Happy hour is the way to go here. Lots of locals - always a good sign.

Room Tip: They are all ocean front but we found the 2nd floor perfect - we felt like part of the beach crowd.

Stayed at this Hotel in April.

I am a beach person and this place fit the bill perfectly. Right on a very nice part of the beach.

I highly recommend the top floor suites. Views are incredibly and price cannot be beat.

The real differentiators here was the staff! Very friendly, very accommodating and very enthusiastic. Could not have asked for a more pleasant visit.

Room Tip: Make sure you reserve the 6th floor (I believe room 961). Great views, very nice size accomodations...

We stayed here for 2 nights while on our way to a conference further up the coast. I wanted something that was close to the Fort Lauderdale airport, but also quiet and on the beach. This small hotel met all of our expectations and more. Our double queen room was on the 5th floor and the sliding glass windows to the small but sufficient balcony, made you feel like you were practically suspended over the ocean...nothing short of spectacular for this prairie girl. The room was updated and very clean. True, the bathroom was a little small and outdated but was clean and everything worked just fine. The beach here is very nice and umbrellas and lounges are available for use. Staff were very good and answered all of our questions. I would definitely not hesitate to return and hopefully, if we come next year, we will stay longer than 2 days!

Service: We arrived on a redeye from Seattle (we had a screaming/kicking 2 year-old behind us and didn't get any sleep!). We got to the hotel at 8:54am (yes, like 6 hours early to check in). We walked in and asked if we could check-in "early" and didn't explain why. They had a room that matched our reservation open and said yes. It was wonderful!

Amenities: We found parking right out the door (free with the room) and have complimentary internet (requested with room package). Restuarant on-site was good, front desk service really great/helpful. Beach attendant set up your chair and umbrella - super nice when I was expecting to do it myself. Nice TV service (when the tropical storm isn't cutting out the satelite service).

Room: Our room was clean, spacious (2 queens when we only needed one), had a GREAT view of the ocean, and on the 5th floor (quiet :-). Minifridge and microwave. Nicely updated - looks like it's pretty current: cute mirrors, nice bed spreads/furniture, updated tile showers. AC worked well and wasn't super noisy which was a plus. GREAT SURPRISE - the shampoo and conditioner were awesome! I've got curly hair and am really picky and pack my own (but always try the hotels' and usually think "this sucks"). I was shocked that the shampoo/conditioner was GREAT. It left my hair without tangles (even after swimming in the ocean). Great plus!

The beach and view are lovely. The price was comprable to other places around. It totally served our needs but isn't the fanciest place (it's not the ritz) but it's certianly not a dive either and they don't nickel and dime you (think maybe hilton garden inn or hampton for room quality but service way better). No breakfast included but you can purchase at the restaurant. If we're ever in Ft. Lauderale, we'll be back!

Room Tip: Nice 5th floor, A/C not too noisy, lovely view, minifridge - bring your snacks,

Great location and on the beach. Staff was overwhelming helpfull, specially one guy was always interested to solve issues with parking and so on. Free parking is excellent and rare in the area.
the pool is on the street side which is also good because it is partially in shade and calm. If you want to have breeze, the ocean is one step front. Rooms maybe a bit need for updating, but this seems to be trend in east coast. Balcony takes way points. It is balcony with real great view but it is so narrow that you have to get your exercise to get the chair. I though had my mornings cereals and enjoyed the breeze and view, but no room for other persons. Rooms are quite, but some parties night time at the pool were disturbing eventhough they seem to be company occasions.

Room Tip: Rooms on the higher levels maybe better.
