This is not gourmet but basically a sports bar and restaurant. The "oysters three ways," gumbo, poboys, etc are very good. If you're lucky they'll have crawfish.. The atmosphere is friendy and lively, but not too noisy. Their hamburgers may be grouped with the best in town. The place is casual and the prices reasonable.Shuck N Dive is a place you'll revisit.

What a pleasant surprise. Nice staff, very complete menu and reasonable prices. I'm a new orleans trained chef and their gumbo was almost (and I say almost) as good as mine. Fried okra was yummy. Red beans and rice excellent. Wife had shrimp and I had sausage with cheese. Cant wait to go back and try other items. Couple next to us were chowing down on a whole bucket of Crawfish. Excellent!
Also the perfect place to go if you are seeing an event at Parker Playhouse.

a slice of Cajun cooking in Fort Lauderdale. they have good fried fish sandwiches, beer and excellent fried green tomatoes. You can sit at the bar and watch the game.

We have been coming to this restaurant since they were in there old location on A1A. The menu hasn't changed much, but the atmosphere seems to change every year. This year we visited for an early dinner and drinks. The service was somewhat slow and the wait staff made us feel like we were imposing on their time. It was close to shift change so they could have been just tired, but they just didn't make us feel welcomed.

I was looking forward to shrimp and grits, but to my dismay it is only served on Saturdays as a daily special. We ended up having fish tacos and sausage with cheese and onions. They were okay, but not up to what we felt were their past standards.

We decided we may try it again his year, but if we don't make it it will not be a big deal.

It is as if a perfect little piece of New Orleans was shrink-wrapped and drop shipped to Ft. Lauderdale. Incredibly authentic restaurant/bar has all the energy and feel of a Big Easy sports bar. The atmosphere has an energy and style that makes you crave cajun food. And despite the great bar with Abita beer, make no mistake -- the food is the star. The chef/owner flies in a load of crawfish from New Orleans every day, so it is as fresh as you can get in Florida. The spice combinations are perfect and the preparation of each dish could not have been better. The shrimp 'n grits bathed in a beautifully tasty brown roux that I am craving as I write this. As mentioned by several reviewers, the fried green tomatoes are a MUST. One of the best things I have ever eaten -- ANYWHERE.

If you are a Saints or LSU fan, you have to come here. If you love New Orleans, you have to come here. If you are a foodie, you have to come here. If you just want to get a good buzz with a great, friendly crowd while you are in Ft. Lauderdale, I can't think of a better place.

Cheers!
