We book this hotel because all the hotels in the area were booked up due to the game; and boy did we regret it!!! (Orbitz has this hotel listed as a 2 stars, but is not even a half of star!).
We had to change rooms because there was not internet signal on the first one; but even in the second room the signal was week and sporadic (not good if you plan to get work done)
The TV image was fuzzy, and the electrical outlets were busted.
The room was filthy (we found candy wrappers all over, the tile floor had not been mopped in ages; as we saw there was hair and dirt and the floor felt sticky). The sheets were dirty and had not been changed (we found crumbs of food on them). The beds were covered in plastic and were really uncomfortable and noisy.
There was hair on the bathroom floor and towels, and there were ants crawling on the faucets and near the a/c unit.
The hotel states "ALL ROOMS ARE NON-SMOKING"; but both rooms reeked of cigarrette smell and mold (When we told front desk about it, they just offered perfume to cover the stench). I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYBODY, as we saw that this hotel rents to vagrants; that were smoking and drinking right outside our room and on the hallways (We felt really unsafe, specially because there was no door lock!). We couldn't get any sleep because these people were screaming and partying all night.
Finally we had enough and we left at 4 am with a massive headache (from cigarrette smoke). THEY HAVE NERVE CHARGING $106 PER NIGHT AT THIS DUMP. DON'T GO THERE!!!

Recently stayed at the hotel with some friends over the new years holiday as we were in town for the orange bowl and it was not a pleasant experience. The room appeared nice and was what we asked for in our reservation but when we woke up in the morning to find BED BUGS infested on the bed and blankets we had slept in, it was gross. If you're not familiar with bed bugs they infest and look like small roaches and they feed off your body. We notified the office and we were given another room. No discount, no sincere apology and the inconvenience of having to switch rooms because of the bugs. When we moved to our new room there were no towels or wash cloths and more than half of the electrical sockets did not work. Don't let the outside of the place decieve you other than the grecian gyros shop had great food, I would never be so foolish to stay there again.

We only stayed two nights and that was two too many, the first room they gave us the door key would not work, I went back to the desk three times before they switched us to a new room, it didn't look too bad at first but when we went to pull the sheets down there was black hair, sand and makeup on the sheets, obviously the sheets had not been changed. There was also hair all over the bathroom, it had not been cleaned either. When we asked that sheets be changed we were told that we would have to change them ourselves... no maids on duty. Also they only had two clean pillow cases and we had 4 people in the room. We never had enough towels or washcloths, the pool was dirty, the staff was unhelpful with all of this. We did however get a $30 discount on our room. Would have rather paid the $30 and had a clean room to begin with!

This review is for the hotel located on 4221 N. Ocean Blvd - there's another very similarly named hotel in Ft. Lauderdale that's a little more upscale.

Overall, my husband and I liked this place. There were some pros and some cons, so it wasn't the perfect stay. Given the price though, I'm not sure you can find better. If we had a bigger budget, I don't think we'd stay here again, but if we didn't we probably would.

Pros:
-Very conveniently located across the street from the beach, just a short 2 min. walk. Nice stretch of beach too, clean and pretty.
-Free WiFi. This is a bit of a mixed one though, since the walls were too thick to properly allow the signal through, so every time we wanted to use the internet we had to open the door or go sit outside (not a pretty prospect with the midday heat).
-Safe in every room. It even fit our laptop, which was a pleasant suprise.
-Decent pool, with fun music (good for 20-30-somethings and young families). It had a lot of pretty tropical plants providing shade and privacy. Lounge chairs (some kind of broken) provided. There was also a nice shower to rinse off before going back to your room.
-Mini-fridge and microwaves in every room. This turned out to be pretty handy, as eating out 3x/day gets really expensive. We did some groceries (cereal, sandwiches, frozen dinners, fruit) and managed to eat in pretty often.
-The air conditioning worked really well, which was a life saver.

Cons:
-You pretty much have to rent a car if you're planning to stay anywhere in Ft. Lauderdale for more than a couple of days. This can get pretty pricey, especially if you book a car from the airport. We were smart and booked from the airport only for a few days (you can take a shuttle from the airport for $9/person), returned, and then rented another car from somewhere else that had a pickup service from the hotel. We saved mucho $$$ like this.
-The housekeeping left something to be desired. Most days they just came in and took away the dirty towels and replaced them, sometimes made the bed, and only actually swept the floor if we specifically asked them. I felt constantly disgusted to walk around on the floor, as given it's a motel-style place, you're always dragging in dirt and sand from outside. The place has a vaguely outdated and slimey feel to it, although I've seen much worse.

Overall, a good place to stay for students and young budget-conscious families.

Guests are of the lesser caliber and are mostly hardcore partiers. If you like that, go for it. I get a room for a place to sleep and feel safe. The street noise and drunks running and slamming doors until 3am kept me awake. The maids have the audacity to leave tip envelopes when the quality of their work results in urine caked toilet rims and floors in the bathroom, rust stained towels and bathmats, hair stuck to shower walls, used washcloths and soap wrappers left on the sink, the necessity to wash your feet before you get in bed after walking across the floor (unless you enjoy sand in your bed) and gunk stuck to the inside of shower curtains. The place is run on a shoestring budget by an owner who barely puts enough money back into the place to keep it afloat. This place is so cheap they even unplug the clocks between guests!!!
The only reason I stayed here a second time was because Hotwire has a no refund policy and I had already paid for the second stay. I'll call that a lesson learned.
