“Adequate but dated.”
Reviewed May 30, 2014

We spent 3 days here, visiting friends who were here for 7 days. The facility had a musty smell, as did our room. The service was adequate and the location worked, but the place needs a good renovation. Would I go back there? No,

If the room was closed or not aired- out, its normal in the tropics to have a musty smell, usually goes away soon as you turn on the a/c for a little while. Air very thick down here and very Humid.! I was with my family in the Famous 5 star Atlantis- Bahamas and the rooms had a must smell also. sorry you had a mediocre experience but our high floors don't have that issue. And for those readers, The complete bathroom remodeling project is almost finished, just 10 rooms left. So, almost all rooms have brand new bathrooms now ! Thanks for visiting us! we hope to make your next stay even better ! my promise :)

This hotel is in a good location on the beach. They have a nice pool and Tiki bar next to the pool. The beach has chairs and cabanas you can rent for the day. If you get up early you can find a lot of shells on the beach.

This place was great. Some hotels say they're close to the beach. This hotel is not on the beach but it's a 2 minute walk to the beach. Lots of restaurants in walking distance and right on the bus line. We're looking forward to our return trip. This is not a 5 star resort but very good for the price.

Clean rooms, easy checking and checkout . Would come back here and would also tell others to come back as well. So so location, but for the price, what do you expect! Being clean is what we expected and that is what we got. Thank you!

Room: Room was clean and very typical for an older building in South Florida. Dated furniture but for the cost, what would you expect? Tv worked. Did not use wifi so I don't know if they even had it. The bathroom was very big and it had a circular table with 2 chairs in it. We used this to set all our bathroom stuff on. The closet contained 4 bags of concrete which I thought was odd but was not something we were offended by. Air conditioner worked great.

Staff: Not overly friendly but not rude either. For a place that relies on tourism I was surprised they didn't engage in small talk. If this were mine, I would require employees to ask where guest were from, let them know where good restaurants were, and ask them how their stay was. It was all business and efficient at check in/check out. I was not bothered by this, just surprised they didn't get to know their guests a little more.

Amenities: There was a pool that looked great but we did not use it. There is a tiki bar. We did not visit the tikibar but looked like it could have been a happening place! The common areas are filled with lots of palm trees which created a great tropical environment. Some of the palms need to be cut back as you couldn't walk side by side without getting hit by a palm.

Breakfast: They offer a continental breakfast that we appreciated. They offer toast/muffins/coffee/hot and cold cereal/juice/mild. Eggs, potatoes and bacon were available for purchase. We stuck to the toast and coffee.

Location: Great location. Just walk across A1A to the beach.

Overall: Its a great place for the money. Especially considering how close it is to the beach. IT IS DATED, so there is no "WOW" factor. But this is the norm for the older hotels in Fort Lauderdate/Miami/Key West. If you want something new and absolutely spectacular, you are going to have to shell out some money and pay for it. If you are budget conscious and don't mind something older, stay here.

Close walk to beach. Lots of parking available. Rooms are clean . Nice sitting area by the fountain with lovely flowering trees and plants. Quiet and great place to relax, Restaurants, coffee shop in walking distance. Front desk is open 24 hours so no problem for early check out. Internet signal not very strong in the rooms but reception great in the courtyard. Friendly atmosphere. Safe area.
Would go back.

this hotel is a diamond in the rough. i had a nice, clean room with a king bed, fridge, microwave and safe on the first floor, with a huge window to look out onto the courtyard. though that made privacy an issue...the tiki bar was great b/c it was open til 2 am. the beach is right across the street and accessible. and the pier is just a few blocks north of the hotel, while there are many shops/restaurants/mall within walking distance in either direction. it is quiet, and cozy, and for a bargain hotel, it was acceptable. they could do a little updating as far as the bed/linens/towels. i did not have any issues personally with my room, though some of the reviews state otherwise. the continental breakfast isn't anything to write home about, but coffee and bite size bagels and waffles will suffice. you can also order hot food at a price, but at that point you may as well go to one of the cafes down the street. all in all i would stay here again for the price, location and convenience. (my friend recommended this hotel b/c he works next door at the hyperbaric center and this is where their patients stay). the wifi is sketchy in the rooms, but that is b/c the walls are built with metal for hurricane protection. it was not a big deal to sit out in the courtyard with my laptop, or go to the tiki bar and have a drink while surfing the net.

Room Tip: probably better to get a room away from the tiki bar, if you want some quiet and less traffic. or s...
