We spent our Christmas vacation on two cruises back to back to the Bahamas. Our flight back home was not booked until 3 days later following our cruise so we decided to stay in Fort Lauderdale. After searching for a reasonably priced hotel we came across the Aqua Hotel which we found right here on Trip Advisor. I read the reviews for the past few months and decided to book their for our 3 nights and glad we did.
Love the look of white and turquoise. This is a new place with exceptionally clean rooms, and comfortable beds. The kitchenette was equipped with set of 4 dishes/cutlery/glassware. We had a coffee pot with 3 packages of coffee to use. Small bottle of palmolive to wash the dishes, few napkins and paper towels. There is a fridge, microwave and stove. Pot and pans, serving dishes and bowls are also provided. The bathroom had shampoo, hand soap and toilet paper.
The location was perfect. You can see the beach from the hotel and is just minutes away. Many places to walk to so you really don't need to rent a car. There is the sun trolley at .50cents per person that runs Fri-Mon. Great Value for this!! The plaza bistro just around the corner is a hip and cool bar/restaurant all outdoors with some tables for seating and then white leather couches off to the side. Food was very good but service a little slow.
We went to the Galleria mall (very high end and pricey) but nice to walk through. Had some good specials. You can do the walk from the hotel but if you are not a walker a cab ride is only $7.00. There is also a publix and cvs pharmacy across the street for all your food and snack items to keep in your room.
Overall, we were very happy. We did not meet Maggie until our 3rd day and enjoyed our conversation with her. She really cares about the hotel, cleanliness and happiness of her clients. She sat and shared stories with us. I do have to mention that Abbey was also great. She was the first staff member we met and took care of all of our needs. You would never find this type of customer service in a large Hotel chain. Thanks Maggie and your staff. Wish we had stayed a little longer to continue our talks.
Check this place out for your next trip. It's is worth the price and you won't be disappointed!
