“Old School Steak House”
Reviewed January 9, 2014

Came in for a light bite to eat and a cocktail. Our bartender, Tommy recommended the sliders as an appetizer. Three good size sliders packed with filet minion beef. A real treat! The hand made fried mozzarella was good also. Met some nice people on vacation like us. Mixed in with the locals. Tommy totally took care of us with some great tips on Ft Lauderdale and made us feel like family. Will come again on of visit trip.

“Great as Ever !!”
Reviewed December 25, 2013

I first was taken to Tropical Acres as a kid back in 1969 by my dad. Been coming here ever since. Had the opportunity to go back for dinner and good as ever. A terrific steak done just right. You don't have to go to a upscale new fangled steakhouse like "brimstone" and pay $40+ for a steak. I would recommend Tropical Acres. They know how to do steak just right. Looking forward to my next visit.

“Terrific service”
Reviewed December 15, 2013

Last night was our most recent visit to Tropical Acres. All in our party had the "early bird," which consisted of any entree on the menu plus soup, dessert and coffee or tea, thrown in at no additional charge.

I chose the prime rib, accompanied by onion soup, salad, baked potato, ice cream roll cake and tea. My husband and the seafood pasta platter with a red sauce, accompanied by onion soup "au gratin" (an up charge of $2.50), Cesar salad…he skipped dessert and tea. Our dinner companions had a seafood with ziti and red sauce, broccoli cheese soup, salad, iced tea and rum cake, and rib steak, salad, onion soup "au gratin", ice cream roll cake and iced tea.

The servings were so large, we each took home enough for a good lunch the next day. The total bill came to under $100 for all of this.

Best of all, however, was the attentive, friendly, prompt service, provided by a waitress and a helper.

We will definitely go back…if only to be served by Donna once again.

“Awesome food and service”
Reviewed December 9, 2013

This was the fourth time I have been to this restaurant and I am more impressed each time. Although it was packed for a Saturday night dinner, we only waited in the bar for about 15 minutes (told it would be 35-40). The service was right on point and was only exceeded by the quality and flavor of the meals. It is no wonder they are still doing a tremendous business and have been doing it since 1949....they are awesome.
