This restaurant consistently serves excellent seafood. But I write to alert those who care about wine that the selection of good white wines leaves much to be desired. If you don't care about wine, read no further. I make my rating as one who has written wine reviews published in wine magazines and in newspapers in the past. In short, the chardonnays are all California and overly oaked to my taste. There is an ample selection of pinot grigio, but that is a much overrated grape. There are several sauvignon blanc but not especially well chosen. The list misses having any French chardonnay (why not a Pouilly Fuisse or a Macon Villages?) and has nothing like a Sancerre to accompany the excellent seafood. The only Italian white is pinot grigio. I rate this 3 out of 5 as a compromise between the chef does and what the wine buyer does. I complained to them last year, but improvement comes slowly here. Probably because no one else cares. The wine list is accurately carried on the website. So you can judge for yourself. The albarino is probably the best selection. The reds are much more interesting, but the grill is primarily a seafood place.

Need to get more California savvy abt wine. $25 corkage?? Maybe at Thomas Keller restaurants. Sunfish Grill? I don't think so. We paid $0. At Pl8 in ft laud and $10 at coconuts. More wine friendly for sure.
