Description: We are a Latin American Grill & Cafe housed in a restored 1924 historic house in downtown Fort Lauderdale, in Sailboat Bend. We are located just west of the Broward Center for Performing Arts. Our Food is Latin American with an emphasis on quality ingredients -- we strive to bring the best dishes of Latin America to your table in a casual and inviting atmosphere. The idea of restoring this historic, derelect house into a restaurant started with a projected completion time of 2 years and finally took 6 (SIX) years to complete. Our goal was to createa Neighborhood restaurant on the West side of the Las Olas area (in Historic Sailboat Bend) with a strong focus on quality food in a casual yet beautiful environment. Our Food menu showcases the best dishes of South America and Spain like Ceviches, Arroz Marinerro (Paella), and lighter fare like Empanadas, Fish Tacos, and Steak Sandiwches. Come experience the charm of this old home and join us for Lunch or Dinner Tuesday thru Saturday, or for Sunday Brunch. Or just come by and have some coffee (Lavazza is served), or sip some wine, a House Sangria, or a Pint of our Draft Beer.

“Comforting, welcoming, great service - a real gem of a place”
Reviewed November 9, 2013

Went back last night in the pouring rain and sat outside - it was wonderful! Great covered area on their deck. Service excellent as always, ambiance and overall feel was wonderful - I had the mahi mahi in coconut milk/white wine sauce - MARVELOUS (had the same dish before and loved it just as much)!!! $15!!! cannot beat that value - it's delicious, comfort food with a large piece of mahi mahi perfectly prepared.

Husband ordered the Gaucho Sandwich and he said that the flavors were excellent, but the meat was too tough to eat - I saw him trying to bite through it and ended up pulling it out of his sandwich while he was trying to bite into it - it was worse than biltong (beef jerky) - just incredibly tough - so he didn't eat the second half of it. He DID say what great flavors - but the meat (I think it was round eye) needs to marinaded for longer, or be tenderized - as it was, he really struggled eating half of the sandwich and didn't even want to take it home. But he did keep saying what great flavors were all present in the sandwich.

The service was wonderful - real professionals - it's just hard to adequately explain how nice the place is, or what a homey sense you get when you go there. We just love it. LOVE it. It's more than just good food and service - there's something else there that touches us. Hard to explain. We will keep going back.

Oh - - remember - there's extra parking across the street.

“Latin Gem in the city”
Reviewed November 5, 2013

I live in Ft Lauderdale and noticed this little place a few weeks ago. While trying to decide what to have for lunch my husband and I ventured here. It was a very nice, cozy atmosphere inside and a nice deck and patio area for those who prefer to dine outside. The food was fresh and flavorful and the prices right. It was refreshing not to get the same old thing but to try out other versions of ceviche etc. Easily within walking distance of riverwalk and most downtown offices.
