food was surprisingly good for a pub, but the real draw is the beer selection -- so much better than ninety percent of the restaurants in south florida -- and hostess and wait staff are first rate -- I've eaten here several times over the past year, lunch and dinner, and always had a good experience

“Cool gastro pub addition to las olas blvd.”
Reviewed December 30, 2012

This place is loud but it's just one of those places that are supposed to be. It was slammed on saturday night but our wait was only 20 mins. They have ample outdoor seating and several tables for large parties, about 3 dozen TVs, and an energetic atmosphere. I recommend the burgers, ribs, truffle fries, and their version of a classic dirty martini. They take the blue cheese stuffed olives up a notch and wrap a piece of bacon around them...after 2 of those you've saved yourself on buying and appetizer :)
One area of the menu I would avoid is the sandwichs with shredded meat, two of us found them to be very dry.

Busy spot but great food and reasonable prices... service was really awesome for Florida. The Manger paid special attention to the kids and our server was on the money. My top ten in FTL

“Royal Pig for the Whole Family”
Reviewed December 29, 2012

Went on Friday night around 6 p.m. with 9 people (Grandparents, Parents & kids late teens to mid-twenties) and got seated immediately. Bar area was very crowded with after work groups. We were seated back by kitchen area (which was fine and not all that noisy). Music was very loud and made conversation difficult across our whole large table, but not unusually loud. For appetizer we had: Parmesan Truffle Fries, Pub Spinach Dip and 6 Handcrafted Nachos. All were tasty, but he table favorite was the Pub Spinach Dip. Comes with a lttle side dish of bacon bits (the real stuff)... added in to an already delicious cheesy dip this was yummy! We ordered several different salads and sandwiches - Warm Spinach Salad (couple in party thought bleu cheese to strong, others did not), Rotisserie Chop with Duck, and the Royal Pig Wedge (has all the goodies wrapped inside the lettuce wedge) overall very tasty with very fresh greens. Also had Mahi Club Sandwich, Ahi Tuna Poke Melt and a side of the Bacon Mac & Cheese. Portions are too large (as usual). From the bar enjoyed "Fountain of Youth" which was sweet and tasty, Margaritas and different beers, all very good. Very nice pub atmosphere - since we were there Christmas week saw their very pretty Christmas decorations.

“The Perfect Pub”
Reviewed December 28, 2012

I went to The Royal Pig with a couple who had never been before. It was a fabulous, because we ordered a little bit on EVERYTHING! We had 6 plates of food! Shrimp, Buffalo Chicken, Kale Salad, Steak, Barbeque Ribs, and Bacon Mac n' Cheese. It was a feast, and allowed us to sample a cross-section of the cuisine.

The pub decor offers seating for every taste, chairs, booths, high-tops, inside, outside, etc... It has TV's EVERYWHERE, and appeals to sports fans and vintage TV as well. It is noisy, but that adds to the Gastropub charm.

The bartender, Shannon made a great Vodka Gimlet. Above that our server was phenominal! He was attentive and knowlegable about the entire menu. I have a photo with my server, but its on my friend's camera :)
