“original decor and good food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

We had a selection of the various appetisers and main dishes and everything was good, nothing outstanding except for the heirloom tomatos that were exceptionally good.

“Spectacular setting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2013

Splendid all white elegant setting, with touches of azure
Very large restaurant, just opened, loud, fun, good
Food is greek at its most interesting, service is very friendly, wines from Greece are a discovery
The only odd thing is that all the help staff are unfortunately dressed in white, which is an unfortunate choice, as all are over- weight

“Soooo Disappointed!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 18, 2013

We were so looking forward to taking friends from out of town to Thasos to enjoy some great food in a unique atmosphere….what a disappointment! While the décor is flashy and modern, the place has a “cold” feel and it is so noisy you could not have a conversation without raising your voice. Our waiter struggled all evening to keep up…first he was challenged in describing the specials, had difficulty in answering questions about menu items and did not come back at all after we were served to check on us…Our friends wanted to order fish, so they were excited to have Chilean Sea Bass as a special. After the order was placed, the waiter then came back to say they were out of the special…it was only 7:45. But ok, our friends looked at the menu again and ordered the Mediterranean Sea Bass, but asked for the accompaniments from the Chilean Sea Bass special…however, the waiter returned and indicated the chef said the kitchen was out of the sides that accompanied the special, which included spinach…mmm…hard to believe?? Our food arrived and the fish was deboned for us by the waiter. However, every bite my friend tried to eat had bones in it. It was a major challenge to try to eat. I will say my husband and I shared the Pork on the menu, and it was delicious….a thick cut, prepared medium, it was the highlight of our meal. The sides were not good however, over cooked greens and potatoes that were mushy and flavorless…The manager did come and ask how our meal was. We were not going to complain, but since he asked, we shared the many issues with our food. He did listen to us and did apologized to us. He also offered us 2 free desserts on the house….we ordered the flourless chocolate cake, a good ending to a disappointing meal. So we’ll probably not return to Thasos, but will continue to go to Greek Isles….less expensive, better service and much better food!

“A REAL GREEK TRAGEDY”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2013

woe is me-so nice and so bad-VALENTINE night not a good time to go(WITH A HORRORIFIC RAIN STORM WAILING OUT SIDE) THE PERFECT STORM! VALETS HAD NO UMBRELLA,S-STANDING OUTSIDE IN THE DRIVEN RAIn-we parked our own carRAN IN. NOW looking at the stone face of the mgr..-NAME ,NOT PLEASE-2 UP AGAINST THE WALL-3 TIMES WERE ASKED IF THIS WAS OUR FOOD AND BEER-NO,WE HAD JUST SET DOWN-THEY SERVE A NON ALCHOLIC BEER AND I ASKED 3 TIMES FOR IT UNTIL THEY GOT THAT TINY ORDER CORRECT; THEN A NICE WAITRESS CAME OVER AND SAID HER NAME WAS JULIA , ARE YOU READY TO ORDER? WHAT?-SLOW DOWN!-She was cold at first but became very receptive and cheerful the middle and end of the evening-we ordered salmon ala carte and lemon potatoes-FLO ordered PASTITIO in a crock. food was hot and good(not great)-the fish was great but the lemon potatoes was OK-the salad for 2 was really for 2 tiny people! would we go back, maybe but i doubt it because the greek isles across the street gives you much more bang for your buck and the food is better! charles T.

“Great service”

The food was very good, but the service was tremendous! We had a large party, but the waiters did a great job getting drinks and food out in a timely matter
