Legendary Local Dining Landmark and Marina. Casual dining with fresh seafood. DockSide Cafe, offers live music on weekends, while watching the daily feeding of Giant Silver Tarpons at our docks. Incredibly creative dining upstairs in a historic setting of early Fort Lauderdale and the marina, a "hush-hush" naval research facility in WW II. Complimentary valet parking and dock for your boat. “Good food, great atmosphere”
Reviewed March 6, 2014

6 of us came in for lunch off of the water taxi. The water taxi recommended the restaurant. It was very good, but not as great as I thought it was going to be. We ate outside, which was lovely. The service was friendly and quick.

Fish tacos, were good, but not great. Fried Alligator, great. Conch Chowder, great. Mahi-Mahi, good. Clam chowder, good, but not enough clams. Fresh steamed clams - good. Overall experience was good, but it was a little pricey. I would come here again just because I know it is good, and has a great atmosphere.

I am hoping still, to find a great seafood place in the area. We still haven't had any luck, of a place we can claim has the best seafood in town.

End.

“Lovely Location, very good food”
Reviewed March 6, 2014

This is not a gourmet spot, but it is obviously beloved in this city….. I had conch soup, which was excellent and shared a sword fish sandwich with my spouse. Got free key lime pie with coupon from Water Taxi, when we got off at this stop. The pie was more than decent and fresh. Service was excellent, though staff was more than busy at 1:15 pm. The view from the outside tables is wonderful and the restaurant feels a bit like Old Florida…..We would return again

“Nice food, wonderful service”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

At here early on a Friday night. The place is very large, and we started off as the only people in the room we were in. Great view. Two servers worked as a team. They noted that it might get louder as the room filled (they were right) but we were done by then. They provided simply outstanding service - very thoughtful and helpful. Food was good, although not exceptional. I would happily return.

“Great food, great atmosphere, fantastic intracoastal view!”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

I like to sit downstairs, outside on the deck overlooking the intracoastal. It is casual, has a lower priced menu than upstairs, and has a wonderful atmosphere. Watch the boats go by, enjoy the breeze, and see the huge tarpon swimming under the restaurant's dock while eating a delicious meal.

I always order either the Joe's sizzler skillet or the lobster roll. Both are absolutely delicious. It's hard to even look at the rest of the menu once you've tried Joe's sizzler skillet. If you love seafood, order that.

This place is a Fort Lauderdale treasure and a great place to spend a sunny afternoon or evening.

“View!”
Reviewed March 4, 2014 via mobile

The location is hidden but not horribly hard to find. Has valet and self parking. The actual building is very nice, well kept and decorated well. However the eating areas were messy. We (4) were sat outside by the water; the wind was great and no fishy smell tgat you sometimes find at marinas. We ordered the shrimp (about 8 very large shrimp), a turkey sandwich (by far the best food we had) and 2 fish/seafood skillets. The skillets were actually not great but for some it would have been passable. Not too pricey at about 16$ a plate. My biggest problem was the terrible, awful service. The server was rude and corrected something I said, which is not only not proper but she was actually wrong (English is my first language, not hers).
