“Night out in Fort Lauderdale”
Reviewed January 26, 2013 via mobile

Busy place for birthdays and anniversaries. The food left a lot to be desired. The quality of the food which was poor was not reflected by the high prices. The show was good but there was an extra charge for that. Our meal only came at 10 pm when the show started and lessened our enjoyment of the entertainment. We had ordered over an hour previously. They did acknowledge this by giving us free desserts. The place where we were sitting was cold. The valet parking was free unless you self parked or wanted out front parking which was good. The place and staff were good. Cocktails very nice.

“Great show - pricey food”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

The food was good and the show was great. The only part that sucks is you have to pay for parking and the food is alittle pricey. Not only do you have to pay for a pricey meal you have to pay for the show as well. But other than that I would recommend to family and friends to see the show.

“Mai-Kai USE to be THE place to go!”
Reviewed January 8, 2013

Appetizers were terrible, greasy and without taste. Entree was no better than a frozen dinner! I use to go there with all my friends for years. We met there for our high school reunion. What a disapointment!

“Touristy yes, but kids' favorite place for birthday”
Reviewed December 12, 2012

The food is good quality and consistent. Our children loved coming here for their birthdays. Over the years the exterior has deteriorated however, the interior is little changed. The show is fun - for kids and visitors (especially grand parents).

“Wonderfully Fun”
Reviewed October 17, 2012

A five star dining experience it isn't but it's tops in everything else! And the food isn't that bad.

Be prepared to spend a little when you go here but, in my opinion, it is worth it!

They have 4 page drink menu and be warned, they don't skimp on the liquor. The drinks are big and are priced accordingly. But, it's all part of the fun.

We ordered the pu pu tray as an appetizer and it was enough to feed three adults and one child.

Our entrees included the Singapore Chili Shrimp, Hawaiian Chicken & Teriyaki Beef. While all three were good, we agreed the Chili Shrimp was the best. I've seen the food criticized in other reviews and yes, there probably are better meals in South Florida. But, I was in no way dissapointed with any of the food.

The service is outstanding. Everyone from the valet to the floor managers to our waiter couldn't have made our visit any more of a pleasure. But the real treat is the show. Yes, there is an extra charge for the show but it is wonderful. See it. The fire portion is spectacular! Our 6 year old sat with eyes as wide as saucers during the whole show.

Like any other "attraction" be prepared to spend a little on yourself. Whether you're out for a special evening or just visiting the area this place is wonderfully fun! And speaking of visiting, it is perfect for couples, families and friends and definetly a place to go for special occassions.
