“The worlds worst free meal”
Reviewed February 22, 2011

You could not male this up. We arrived on time, but it took several minutes for the hoastess to find my name as it was completely taken down wrong. I was then told the despite the promise to be seated outside, there were no tables-- we waited 10 minutes for them to set up a table inside. It only got worse. We were seated at a table for eight (we were 7) and nobody came by to fill up our empty water glasses or remove the place setting for number 8. Suddenly a young waiter came around who seemed nice enough he apologized said they were short staffed (even though the place was only 50 percent full). He boasted he could make anything happen. Anyway, I ordered a bottle of mondavi Sauvignon blanc. After 20 minutes he came out with a mondavi but it was a chardonay. He told us that there was no sauvignon but this would be same! Obviously, we selected another bottle. There were no specials, to to the contrary-- most of the dishes came with risotto-- even though some said cuscoos. When the waiter came with the stale bread and whipped butter with no taste- he proceeded to trip over my father in law. Didn't even ask him if he was ok. Another waiter then dropped a glass of water spraying water on us-- again no apology. The food took 1 and a half hours to come out-- and most of the dishes were cold and dry-- the vegetables were torched and wilted. We voiced out dismay with the manger-- he compd the meal-- but after two hours - he should have paid us!! We then went to get our car where a fight broke out in the hotel driveway between a taxi driver and a customer who refused to pay. Not the resteraunts fault- but indicative of our night!

“Awful Service”
Reviewed February 1, 2011

Whenever you are in a large party at a restaurant you have to compromise a little - cooking for 10 people at once is a challenge. Our large party was joined by several other large parties dining at the same time. As it turns out, we had to wait 90 minutes between our appetizer and main course. It took one hour for our water glasses to be refilled and another 15 minutes for a second bottle of wine. When the main dishes did arrive, one member of our party had to wait 15 minutes for his dish. All through this, our waiter was unapologetic and offered no explanation for the delay. When the bill finally came there was no offer to adjust the bill (although they did make an adjustment at our request).

Was the food worth the wait? About half the members of the party said yes while the other half said no. My grouper was cooked to perfection, but it was over-peppered and dried out somewhat while we waited for the final member of our party to be served.

Overall a regrettable evening.

“Except for the food...”
Reviewed January 7, 2011

This is a lovely place for a romantic dinner as far as atmosphere and service. Very upscale. However the food doesn't measure up. I ordered the tuna tartar app., which the waiter was pushing. It was covered with chopped tomatoes, onions & avocado but I couldn't find the tuna. The yellow snapper entre was spoiled by a very salty sauce, as was my companion's grouper. Too bad they can't do better.

“Trina strikes out, obliviously”
Reviewed December 5, 2010

Had a burger for lunch on the outside patio with a beer and all was good.
Decided to try dinner before I left as a treat: it's a pricey menu.

Crab leg appetizer $18, one of the saltiest dishes I have ever had. Seemed as though they injected the fish with salt and the put salty sauce on top. Really heavy hand, no crab sweetness here.

Had Grouper (at the smiling waiter's suggestion) and it was incredibly overdone and chewy. And that same sauce, like lightning striking twice.
Chewed through 2/3 of the fish and gave up.

Mentioned the saltiness on the app to the waiter, to which his smile got even brighter. Asked for the check and could not comment on the rest of the meal, just wanted to get the hell out. $60, one person, no alcohol.

All smiles around from host and waiters as I left. They apparently are very used to unhappy customers. They just keep smiling. Stay away.

“5 STARS PLUS!!!!”
Reviewed December 1, 2010

I don't know why there are such poor reviews of this place! My friend and I spent our last night at this restaurant and out of all the places we at out at, we rank this our #1! Our server, Samuel, was AWESOME! He went above and beyond for everything. The coffee was delicious here! Beautiful scenery if you're eating outside. We had the zucchini flower pizza and truffle mushroom risotto which both were absolutely delicious! We had the pear tart for dessert which was also good! I recommend this place to EVERYONE! I have no idea why some people experienced such bad service/food because this was our favorite restaurant out of our whole trip!
