Hotel Lush Royale
Reviewed February 25, 2014

My partner and I had the opportunity to indulge in the Lush Royale before and after our recent cruise.

The HLR is truly the crown jewel of the North Beach Village collection. Beautiful Lush courtyard, surrounded by outstanding accommodations. The hotel staff only complements the physical surroundings. Each staff member is always willing to go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable.

If you're looking for a relaxing stay in paradise, the Lush Royale is the place to stay.

Room Tip: I don't think there is a bad room in the house. It's really a matter of how much space you...

We stumbled upon this hotel by accident when looking for a hotel on a booking site. We were as a gay couple somewhat reluctant to book it based on previous not so favorable experiences of other gay hotels, but it was a great choice. Staff greeted us with a smile and we felt very welcome. We didn't though new if we should have tipped the guy at the front desk for delivering our luggage to the room. I'm sure an American would have known better.

The hotel offered us a room in the new wing and they were fresh and nicely appointed. I know some would say "bare" and small, but it was perfect for us. Bathroom small though, but didn't affect our visit. We found some fun notes here and there around the room which made us laugh. I'm not telling you what and where since it's fun to discover them yourself.

They offer you a make it your own breakfast, there's afternoon drinks and a honor bar with soft drinks for 2 dollars which we thought was very reasonable. Hotel also offers beach chairs and towels as well as on site sun screen.

The whole place is set in a lush garden which includes a heated pool, a larger cooler pool and a hot tub. It was a delight to sit in the warm water during the night when everyone was in bed and just enjoying the setting.

Can really recommend this place!

We booked last minute. Andrew was really helpful, also indicating that the area was safe to walk about, 2 blocks from the Fort Lauderdale Beach, and indicated where we could get dining nearby, as we were arriving rather late in the evening.
Andrew, Raibelis and Jaime, as well as the staff at Lush Royale were perfect. Very warm, friendly and helpful.
We had a nice suite overlooking one of the pools. Extra clean, complete and furnished kitchen.
Breakfast is served in the Breakfast room, and is just perfect. I have read a complaint by someone that bread/bagels were wrapped individually in cling wrap. We actually appreciated this, as it guaranteed freshness, moistness and well, germ-free.
In the afternoon, a drink is offered. That day, it was homemade margaritas. They were not made from a mix... it was made from scratch and it tasted amazing!.
There are 2 pools and a spa (24h/clothing optional). The pool and spa in the more secluded area are hot. The 2nd pool is heated too, but less hot. They are extra clean.
We arrived late after their 7am to 7pm manned hours, but their check-in procedure off hours works extra well. (they have a 2nd location nearby in the event you need to reach someone, but we didn't need anything as everything was perfect).
Being 2 blocks away from the beach and a very short walk from the gay beach area is also perfect.

We were boarding a ship 2 days later. This location is less than 10 minutes away from Port Everglades. We only wished we had booked there when we returned from the cruise instead of flying right back, but we will return!
We cannot recommend this place strongly enough!

Chip

Good Morning Chip1963,
Thank you for this fantastic review! You made mention of all the special things that set us apart. That means the world to us. I am pleased that your “unplanned” visit turned out to be your future destination for Fort Lauderdale!! Hotel Lush Royale and the North Beach Village Group are making the Fort Lauderdale vacation experience new and interactive. Soon, not only the beaches but stores, shopping, cafes, restaurants will be just steps away from our hotel. We can’t wait to see both of you in the near future. Stay well and thank you.

After a hectic week-long gay cruise, we decided we'd take an extra day to decompress in Fort Lauderdale before returning to the frozen north. After reviewing several potential options, we settled on Lush Royale, and we were not disappointed!

Upon entering the gates, we were met by a welcoming tropical oasis of greenery. The staff was extremely friendly despite being quite busy with a full load of guests following the cruise. They were very helpful in pointing out local areas to eat / shop, and held our baggage until our room was available.

Our room was in the older building and was very spacious and clean. Notes / cards around the room were a pleasant surprise and indicate the level of care these folks have for their guests.

The best feature of the property has to be the pool / hot tub however... a true relaxing paradise. We met several new people (all very friendly) relaxing pool side over the course of the day and evening.

Without a doubt, we'll be returning here when back in Florida pre/post our next cruise.

Dear Jason N,
Our Tropical oasis is the perfect place to decompress. Cruises take a lot out of you and sometimes you need a place just to get rest to go back home. We could not be more pleased that you chose us for your R&R place!! Thanks for noticing and taking time to mention all the “little” things we do to make you smile and know we care about your time with us. Our pools are a great meeting place for chatting and as you guys did….meeting new friends.
We look forward to seeing you both before and after your next cruise, till then enjoy the anticipation of the warmer spring weather just around the corner.

Booked a room here surrounding the Atlantis Cruise in Feb 2014. What a great surprise. You enter through the gate to a tropical courtyard with palms, orchids, a heated pool and hot tub and a warm and welcoming staff. Ray (Raibelis) the front desk manager is warm and welcoming as though you were family. The rooms are clean and the handwritten welcome note and orchids in the bathroom were beautiful touches. The tour of the property revealed a second pool to cool off in on the hotter time of the day. Even the guest were great, making new friends from around the world. Will stay here every time I am in Fort Lauderdale!

Was at this Hotel last year and loved it so much-came back and certainly will be back. It was nice that they remembered me from my 1st visit - this time they put me in the new section which was lovely. It was a 900 sq ft one bedroom suit with a north east west and south view. What I really like is how peaceful and relaxed this small hotel is. Andrew at the front desk is fantastic. Thanks for everything as I needed the rest.

Room Tip: Second fl if possible. I think you may hear people above but not sure

I had stayed here a year ago in a room in the original building and had been very impressed. I had no idea that the Lush Royale had just acquired an adjacent building (the "new" or north building) and that I would be staying there. I was very surprised and disappointed when I found that my room this year was a pale shadow -- to say the least -- of the room I had last year. Where my room the previous year had been spacious and very, very nicely appointed, this room was an ordinary motel room, on the smaller size, sparsely furnished, with an old, worn parquet floor. And I was paying $179 a night for this! I immediately complained about it, asked for a better room, and was told nothing could be done for me. So, when you respond, Lush Royale, don't say I never said anything, because I complained immediately.

The hotel is otherwise as before -- the common areas are beautiful and the staff is extremely friendly. I would just encourage people, when booking, to make sure their room will be in the original building, and you will have a lovely stay.

Dear Formershrink,

Overall, I’m happy you had a good time. The charm of the two properties blends together and allows all the common areas to be one of the same. I do remember your request to be transferred to the south building and thank you for understanding that we were booked and unable to accommodate you at that time. We welcome all requests for whatever rooms you desire. So next time….make it a point to call or write in the notes on line for any special requests you need. We will be more than happy to reserve your favorite room!! Thanks again and hope to see you soon.
