“Well-Hidden Gem”

Beer culture is alive and well in Sailboat Bend. If you can find Riverside Market and find a parking place, you're in for a treat. Beer coolers with a huge international selection line the walls of this unimposing gathering spot filled with castoff furniture and funky decor. The food selection is a step up from standard bar fare with good hand made pizzas and different sandwiches. The vibe is ultra relaxed, just grab your beer from the cooler, order food at the counter and find a seat at a table or on one of the sofas. Keep your empties so the staff can add up your tab at the end of your stay. There are always a few beer connoisseurs around who would love to help you find your ideal brew. It's a great spot and we go there often.

“Great Hideaway”
Reviewed May 24, 2012

The Riverside Market is a great hidden oasis in the Sailboat Bend neighborhood. Hundreds and Hundreds of beers to be purchased and consumed in a corner market meets coffe house meets cafe. We ate a few things, the pizza was pretty good (extremely thin crust) and the sandwiches were just okay (a little overpriced for what they were). PS If you have an aversion to hipster poser wannabes, this isnt your place

“You won't find it. You need a GPS, and you still wont find it.”

But it's worth it. It's a little neighborhood spot, until several years ago it was more of a convenience store. If you want to pick you own beer from their coolers, maybe 100 different bottles from all over the world, this is the spot. Good pizza and sandwichs, good specials. Couches, tables, funky but fun. It's got a great mix of ages, 20's to 60's. Live music some nights, but not loud so you can still talk. It's tuck away between several rivers in Fort Lauderdale. You can get there several ways, but they are all devious. Across a swinging bridge and around one of the oldest neighborhoods in town.

BTW, across the street is Bozo's, another great small sandwhich shop, with southern food on Fridays.

“Great Local Bar”
Reviewed March 8, 2012

Once you go, you will go again and again. We have been here several times. They have an enourmous beer selection and the pizza is excellent. Its a serve yourself kind of place and they dont like to bother you while you are hanging out, so if you want to order something or pay your tab, just grab someone that works there (make sure you keep your bottles). One drawback that we have found is parking is kind of tight, especially on the weekends. They are dog friendly and the free wi-fi is also nice. The atmosphere is one of a kind!

“Eat like a Local”
Reviewed October 19, 2011

Tucked away in the neighborhood of Riverside Park, you'd never know about this cafe -- but it's worth the short drive from the beach or downtown...and on the way, you can see the only swing bridge in Fort Lauderdale, a city of MANY bridges (which will resonate with you when you get stopped at one that's letting a yacht through!). Riverside Market boasts the best bottled beer selection I have ever seen -- serve yourself. (Openers are on-or-near most tables.) The menu is not extensive, but offers great flat bread pizzas and really outstanding fish tacos, in addition to other sandwiches. Locals often bring their dogs, who hang out under the tables. The only reason I don't rate them as "excellent" is that service is sometimes spotty...but since you can get your own beers, it's not too much of a hardship!
