The Pillars Hotel Fort Lauderdale

We arrived here 2 days late having fled the New York and Hurricane Sandy. The welcome was exceptional and the room was clean, well equipped and comfortable right next to the pool. We had an excellent dinner on the water's edge and promptly fell into bed for a long sleep.
Breakfast the next day was of the highest quality and of good variety.
On checking out the front desk informed us that we were not being charged for the two missing days.
I have no hesitation in recommending the Pillars as a hotel, restaurant or somewhere where service is a pleasure

Room Tip: Book the dinner, bed and breakfast package. Top value and hastle free

Stayed two days at The Pillars, a well located, yet quiet and intimate lodging of superb quality in the midst of the hustle of Fort Lauderdale. This oasis deserves high praise for its style and comfort. We found it hard to image we weren't in a country inn. Yet one could watch the boats cruising up and down the Intercoastal, take a dip in a most inviting pool or shop endlessly nearby.

We ate twice at the restaurant. The cuisine was decidedly up-scale, imaginative and its presentation was top-notch without being fussy. Everything we ordered was done perfectly. The wine list offered a wide selection and was suited for a small, intimate restaurant. Should you chose, breakfast, lunch or dinner could be taken at pool or dockside if weather permitted. The dining room.is always available as a most attractive alternative. A wide variety of salads, sandwiches and other foods from the kithcen can be served in the room any time of the day or night.

If taste and understated charm is your preference, this is the place for you. To a person the staff was delightful and most obliging. Why would one ever go to one of the large hotels when there is The Pillars? ..

Stayed in November pre-cruise. What a super place, very colonial looking, so pretty. Room very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Food was excellent as was the service. The view at the back of the coastal waterway was gorgeous, people ate there at night but I am a chilly person so opted for indoors, maybe if I had had a nice warm wrap with me then we could have sat there as it was wonderful with all the lights around the water. Swimming pool was lovely and it took 1 second to get into it from our room which also had a little table and chairs outside. If I ever return to this area then this is definitely the place I shall stay at. Fabulous.

Room Tip: I think all the rooms in this hotel would be fantastic.

We stayed at The Pilars in Nov for 2 nights Pre cruise.
It is small on the inter coastal and the resturaunt offers good food reasonably priced.
We were worn out after a hectic day at Sawgrass Mills so just opted to eat in ,it was very handy.
Check in and out went without a hitch !
Would recommend. For any relaxing Pre or post cruise or shopping break in fort lauderdale area.

This was our fifth or six time staying at The Pillars, and each time we enjoy it more. Caroline and the staff are amazing and always friendly and helpful. The property was clean and inviting. It didn't hurt that the weather was 83 and sunny all weekend! We can't wait until next year.

We are staying at the Pillars before we cruise. This is our 4th stay and it continues to be one of our favourite hotels. It is small and they remember us from one year to the next. The service is wonderful. The hotel is well located on the inland waterway and within walking distance of restaurants and the beach. We had dinner at Pillars last night. We had a table by the water - The seabass was delicious as was the date salad - great food with a great view.

Friends found the Pillars Hotel for us, and we're glad they did. This is a small, secluded hotel in the middle of busy Fort Lauderdale. The rooms are perfectly appointed. Beds are great. The bathrooms, though small, are completely updated. The patio surrounding the pool is meant for relaxation. Each room has a table and chairs out front. We found ourselves outside sipping coffee with the complementary NY Times each morning. Lounging on the dock in the late afternoon with a chilled glass of wine was a treat. You overlook the busy Intercoastal Waterway.

The staff is warm, friendly, totally helpful, yet not intrusive. During our four-night stay there was even a small wedding, kids and all, but it was welcome experience rather than intrusion. Unfortunately we didn't have the opportunity to try the Hotel restaurant, with its dining on the dock, but we heard great reviews from other guests.

No complaints, only praise for this gem of a hotel. If you want a big hotel with all the people, confusion, multiple pools and bars, this is not for you. If you want a quiet oasis in the middle of the hustle, this is the perfect place.
