We stayed here 3 nights in october (5-8). And it's great value for the money. We paid $70/night. And that is a great reat for Ft. Lauderdale with this standard. I doubt that the $150 beach places is this good.

Our room was very clean and nice. And done everyday. The staff in the reception (some) and breakfast are was so and so. They never said good morning etc. But I can live with that. The parking and breakfast is free. And you will get a free drink in the tiki bar. The pool area is nice and clean and so is the property.

There is many restaurants nerby and the beach is very close. The location is perfect, close to all major roads + I-95. The pictures on the homepage don't show the standard room. But there is no big difference. I asked the maid to see a "business" room, so don't waste your money in that.

The location is pretty nice for weather and fishing in Fort Lauderdale. I am not impressed with the city much beyond that. Fishing for me and my friend was pretty good, but looking for nightlife was scarce. Downtown had maybe two clubs that were not worth going to, and the casino nearby in Hollywood was mediocre at most. Downtown is all Shops and Restaurants. We went the end of April, pretty good for fishing and seeing the local folk. Restaurants range from Mcdonalds and Subway, to a very few mid-range places like Red Lobster and the Lone Star Steakhouse, to the fancier restaurants downtown similar to South Beach. They are on Los Alos blvd, ave, whatever. Find a good route from hwy 1 to the florida turnpike or you may be lost for a good while. Traveling up and down hwy 1 has very few restaurants and many dingy looking motels along the way. That's just from the airport and back from the hotel. That reminds me, the airport has small concourses with little amusement, and no smoking at all inside after the security checkpoint. That's the nice areas, anywhere we took the rental car to the West off Hwy 1, I felt we were in the ghetto. Not to mention the maze of roads besides. The beach illuded us because many times it was a maze of roads to get there. And the city seems pretty run-down overall. Anyway, I don't see why anyone would go to Fort Lauderdale for a vacation or even Spring Break unless they had to. The hotel was pretty good, sometime weak A/C, and the tiki bar closed 9pm weekdays, and the bartender was pretty depressing and scratching off lotto tickets. That's about it. Little Havanna looks pretty nice 'bout now.

My girlfriends and I stayed here before our cruise March 4th. We took a cab from the airport for $13 each person. The hotel is on a busy highway but as soon as you walk into the pool area where the rooms are, you don't hear the noise anymore. The front desk manager was very helpful with our luggage and my packages. We were given free drink tickets and he also arranged our shuttle transportation to the pier for the next day ($10 per person).

The room was clean and comfortable and the bartender in particular was very friendly and gave us great service. She told us a good place to eat as well as another bar just down the street if we wanted to go after she closed. Overall, our stay was great especially for the price. I'll definitely stay here again when I cruise again next year.

We booked a pre-cruise room here, using rewards points. We were a bit wary when we drove up and saw that the 1960s-looking property was located on a very busy highway. However, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the highway "disappears" when you walk into the motel's nicely landscaped interior couryard over which the tiers of rooms look out. The courtyard has a pool, which our teenaged daughters loved and basically had all to themselves one morning (Most of the other customers did seem to be senior citizens). The courtyard also houses a smoky Tiki bar from which annoying rock-station music blares throughout the day. The bar, thankfully, shuts down at 9 p.m. We appreciated this since our ground-floor, non-smoking room was very near the open-air facility. Thankfully, again, most courtyard noise got muffled when we closed the room door and turned on the A/C. The room was basic and clean; the only odd aspect was that both beds had plastic mattress covers that crinkled when one moved on the bed, and made for a bit of a "damp" feel. The free, semi-self-serve breakfast was ample; the attendants work very hard. The indoor eating area is a bit confined but there is outdoor seating as well (along the busy highway).

We stayed at the Best Western Oakland Park Inn the last weekend of the month we had a reservation for two room. When we got there they explaned that we could not check in untill 4:00 Pm. But the Front Office Manager Justin stayed that he would see what he could do. He gave us drink coupons so we can relax by the pool and have some drinks. About an hour and 1/2 later justin came by the pool and told us that the rooms where ready. We had some problem getting to the hotel from the port of everglades we spoke with justin and he took care of us. Justin also took care of transportation two the airport the next morning.
The Breakfast was great the breakfast attends where always in a hurry every time we asked for something it was like we where bothering them. The only reason why we stated the hotel is really good is because the way justin the front office manager took care of us we felt like we where well welcomed to the hotel. He is an asset to your company and should be well thanked for his customer service and hospitality. We will be back to the hotel next year because of him.
