We were in town overnight and wanted to try something different. Read the reviews and thought it would be fun.
If I had to go by 1st impressions, I probably would have passed this place by. It's a little hard to find, but GPS did get us to the right place. When you walk in, it's like you are coming in a back entrance, we walked by an in-ground pool that looked in need of service and the landscaping was a little rough.
However, once you round the corner, it takes on a different feel. I agree with other reviews, the pirate theme didn't seem to fit here, but it didn't bother me.
We opted for a table right on the water and my 2 children enjoyed the view and watching the boats pass through. This is a stop on the water taxi, and one of the taxi's did hit the pier a little too hard, knocking over drinks on the table in front of us. They weren't too happy, but service staff took care of everything.
The seafood was good, I had the lobster chowder and found the spices to be too overpowering, however, everything else was good. Price may be a little high for the quality of the food, but we loved the atmosphere. Service was fast. Overall enjoyed the experience.
