GALLERYone - A DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel
Ranked #43 of 127 Hotels in Fort Lauderdale
Reviewed September 14, 2011

I recently spent 4 days at this Doubletree property. Let me state some positives. The room was fantastic; plenty of space with all of the necessary amenities. Very clean. Nice large HDTVs in the living room and bedroom. Kitchen area was nice with a small refrigerator, stovetop, microwave and dishwasher. Very nice comfortable balcony. Speaking of comfort, the bed was great. There is a small safe in the closet which is always a nice bonus.

The location of the hotel is very good. Within walking distance is the beach and ocean which was great. But you can also easily walk to a number of restaurants/bars along with a Publix, Starbucks and CVS.

Wifi was above average, especially for a Hilton family hotel.

The staff I encountered were all friendly and courteous.

By far my biggest gripe is the valet parking at $24/day. It's very disappointing that they removed the self park option. This alone will cause me to consider other options on my next stay. Otherwise I'd have no problem staying here again...

This hotel was very beautiful and in an excellent location. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It's close to the beach, restaurants and bars and there's a really nice mall right down the street! Also a good location for weddings or family gatherings since yachts can pull right up behind the hotel to cruise along the coastway :-)

Room Tip: Any room location would be a nice choice!

We visited this hotel a couple of times and were there in September and loved the hotel, the staff was wonderful from the time we arrived until we left. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going there to relax or to unwind a little, there are lot of resturants in the area to visit that are great or you can just enjoy the hotel and the beautiful beach. Again I would recommend this hotel and cannot wait to return. The hotel was very clean.

We were extremely happy with our week long stay over Labor Day. The king room suite was perfect with an awesome view of the fireworks and water. Service was perfect! Will definitely return soon!

The hotel is on the intracoastal with easy access to the Water Taxi, Galleria Mall and the beach (all of which are withing walking distance). We booked the room last minute due to construction issues at our house. Joe at the front desk checked us in quickly. When the work wasn't done on our house and we needed to extend our stay, Paris was extremely helpful and understanding. Everyone, in every department was extremely nice and helpful. We couldn't have asked for more.

Room Tip: If you belong to AAA, book that rate and save about $20 per night...pays for your annual fee !

This hotel has a fantastic location. It's within walking distance to Ft Lauderdale Beach/A1A, the Galleria Mall, and other convenient stores you may need if traveling with a family for a prolonged amount of time (publix, walgreens, etc). If interested in the water taxi it also stops hourly at this hotel site so that's a plus as well. Pool is quaint but not overly intimidating and the view of the intracoastal is tough to beat.

The rooms are of adequate size if you book the double queen rooms. Bathroom is fairly large. Grout work in showers could be done better and the interior could use a fresh coat of paint. That being said it's a nice place for people with teenagers or a young family as it has a kitchenette with stove/fridge etc, dining room table, and living room that's seperate from the sleeping room.

Valet parking is expensive for a Doubletree but for this type of location and virtually any of the hotels actually on A1A that are 3star plus you have to pay to park anyway. Service is dodgy depending on who's working the front desk or valet stands.

Hate to say it but the foreign staff at the front desk are super attentive and the American staff members basically hate their lives and will do as little as possible. There was female lady from Chicago I think Kate or something at the front desk that falls into the do nothing or as little as possible. So there it is...the good and the not so good. For a beach type setup and the Ft Lauderdale location this hotel works really well. Without a beach if this were in a regular land-locked town no bueno.....

This was our second trip to this hotel. As with our last trip, the room is spacious, clean and well-appointed. On our first trip, however, we found customer service to be lacking and I preferred to stay at the Hilton beach hotel but it was booked. I reluctantly booked the Double Tree again but was pleasantly surprised. This visit, the customer service was much improved - valet staff were excellent and front desk staff much more on point. Good value choice for families on travel with children that require space as well as nice amenitites.

Room Tip: Top floor left corner rooms will give you both a canal and ocean view
