Description: Market 17 is proud to be serving delicious, creative dishes that are literally from the farm right to the tables of our diners. We call this "wine country cuisine" because the emphasis is on fresh, clean food from top purveyors along with an abundant wine list. For the more adventurous diner, Market 17 offers 'dining in the dark'. It is our chefs table in a private room that allows a new way to experience food. Once your sight is turned off, all the other senses are heightened. It's a fun and unique experience to enjoy our food. (Due to limited seating, reservations for dining in the dark can be requested via open table notes but are not guaranteed. Please call 954.835.5507 to confirm dining in the dark reservation requests.) Our menu will change daily and we'll always offer amazing tasting menus for you to sample what the chef has created. Come and experience for yourself what all the buzz is about!

Visited Market 17 on Xmas Day whilst passing through Fort Lauderdale en route to a cruise. We were pleasantly surprised by both the quality of the food and the staff who, despite the restaurant being very busy, took time to explain the menu and made us feel genuinely welcome. The food was great and reasonably priced with no apparent mark up for Xmas Day which compares very well to the rip offs that are often found in the UK at Xmas.

I'll be back!

Fresh, fresh, fresh. Did I mention that the food at Market 17 is FRESH! We were in South Florida on our anniversary and decided to have dinner there and it was wonderful. With reservations we were seated immediately (we don't like to wait), had our drink order taken and served very quickly. The server was very helpful with suggestions, the food was excellent and the chef who is in her late 20's really knows her stuff. If you want to feel special, this is a great place for dinner.

But for a couple of minor miscues by the waitstaff and finding several bones unexpectedly in our fish entrée we would have rated Market 17. It was the best restaurant we visited during our South Florida long weekend. The farm to table here includes local fish and ingredients from the best farms in the USA such as the ones that supply Vermont cheese and Nebraska beef. Market 17 also offers daily an 'eating in the dark' event.

Market 17 is rated the #8 Best Restaurant in Ft Lauderdale and I have to admit it lives up to its ratings. It really was wonderful (Shrimp and Wild Rice), but the desert was one of the all time best I ever ate. It was a scoop of Homemade "Bourbon Ice Cream" on top of a Rhubarb pastry and crowned with a piece of "Candied Bacon". It was wonderful...but I want a tub of that Ice Cream to go!!! The Ice Cream by itself is worth eating the entire meal which was also very good. It is off the beaten path of Las Olas or along A1A, but worth the trip. It actually is on A1A just over the bridge at the cruise ship harbor in the yacht center across from the Hilton Marina Hotel. Very easy to miss. On the south side of the street by the flag poles and Art Institute.

If you live for fresh, organic, local ingredient and superb atmosphere then this is your place. This place was a pleasure during our short trip to Fort Lauderdale. It's not a huge restaurant. Called at 7:45pm and no tables until 9:15ish. So we ate at the bar.
