The first impression is bad, a $30 per day parking charge with no way out. The rooms are small with nice views, clean and comfortable with no coffee/tea maker and none available. Really? Breakfast is ok if you like fatty pork products although the salmon was good. Lots of extra charges although maybe that the rip off the tourist tax Florida is famous for. The gym is a joke why bother, no free weights and only one station.

Dear Jgscott,

I am sorry to hear your stay was not up to your liking. Unfortunately the parking is something that we cannot control as there is limited parking on the beach so the fee is necessary to pay for our parking garage spaces behind the hotel. I will relay your feedback regarding the food choices with the Chef as I agree there should be healthier options. We have recently gone an a brand transition to a Sonesta, so am hopeful that there will be the opportunity to change our fitness amenities in the near future, thank you for bringing these issues to our attention.

Best,
Lindsay

My wife and I stayed here for 5 days in early May 2014. In room 1016. Following is my list of pros & cons.

Pros:
- Location is ideal. Gorgeous beach across the street, that is not crowded. Walking distance to several shops & eateries. Walking distance to the Water Taxi stop behind the GalleryONE Doubletree hotel. Walking distance to the Bonnet House. Walking distance to the Galleria mall.
- The views! We stayed in a “stunning” room. These are on the 9th & 10th floors and feature the floor-to-ceiling windows. HIGHLY recommended. The views are spectacular!
- Pool is clean, warm, has a bar, has a few cabanas and palm trees.
- Attached sushi restaurant SAIA is very good. Pricey, but good.
- Bed was super comfy.
- There is always a taxi or two waiting out front.
- There are bicycles available to rent on the grounds.
- The Sun Trolley goes right by the hotel.
- Modern and chic. (Everywhere)
- Complementary Wi-Fi.
- Complementary to-go coffee in the B’Stro every morning.
- Complementary “fruity water” at the pool bar.
- Fast elevators, and there are several of them.
- Lots of character.
- Very friendly & accommodating staff.
- Decent value for the money.
- Good picture on the TV, with plenty of channels.
- Plenty of closet space.
- Complimentary in-room safe was big enough for my full-size laptop.
- A/C unit worked fine, and was not overly loud.
- Large shower head overhead.
- No airport noise or street noise.
- Room darkening shades.
- Everything was exceptionally clean.
- Housekeeping did a phenomenal job every day.
- Canine beach is right out front (Sundays).

Cons:
- Walls are paper thin. You will hear EVERYTHING. Especially if there is a party/event/wedding in the penthouse. Management is well aware of this, as it’s probably the most common complaint.
- Rooms do not have coffee, tea, microwaves, or refrigerators.
- Pool is small, and in the back.
- The street out front (A1A) is very busy.
- $28 per day to valet park. (But we didn’t have a car)
- Cab ride from the airport will come close to $30 after tip.
- B has recently been sold to Sonesta. Sadly the B will “B” no more.
- Far from Las Olas Blvd/Beach (But that’s not always a bad thing).
- Some might consider the neighborhood to be a little sketchy.
- Bathroom didn’t have much counter space.
- Bathroom is a very poor design due to a window that faces the rest of the room. If you are staying with someone and they get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, once they turn on the bathroom light the entire room will be lit up.

Room Tip: The "stunning" rooms are well worth the higher price.

Dear K_0_0_z,

Thank you for your thorough feedback from your recent stay with us. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the location and views, and will take into account your suggestions to improve the hotel. As part of our recent transition to a Sonesta property, we are looking into making enhancements to all of the rooms (i.e. adding a mini fridge, possibly coffee). Unfortunately, the noise issue is something that many of our sister properties on the beach experience as well when there are major events on property. We hope you will come back and stay with us again soon to see some of the changes that we can look forward to in being a Sonesta.

Best,
Lindsay

We had just come off a 7 day cruise in the Caribbean and stayed at this hotel for a night before flight the next day. I was surprised that we were impressed with our room's view since we had a balcony room on our cruise, with a great view the entire week. Our room had a huge picture window and the view was beautiful. We wished we hadn't been so tired so we could have enjoyed all the area had to offer. Some folks in our group rode bicycles up and down the beach area and they said it was fun. We did find a great place for pizza and sandwiches just around the corner - can't remember the name, but you can find it. We had pizza for dinner that night and again for breakfast the next day. The hotel is clean and modern. I highly recommend it.

Room Tip: I think all their rooms have the large picture window so I don't think you can miss here.

Dear Glamadana,

We're so glad to hear you enjoyed your recent stay with us! The rooms almost feel like you're on a cruise ship, so it probably was the perfect end to your vacation. :) Primanti Bros. is the restaurant you're speaking of, definitely some great Italian right within walking distance. The Broward B-Cycle bikes are a must on your next trip, you can explore all of the city! Hope to see you again soon.

Lindsay

Hotel was very clean and right across from the ocean. Close to shopping, restaurants. The only negative was the staff did not know where you get on the sun trolley, we walked a very long way and never saw a sign.

Thank you for staying with us and your feedback! We apologize for the confusion on the front desk staff's end about the Sun Trolley, and will be sure to follow up with them so they are aware for future guests.

We stayed here for 5 nights in April, we were close to everything, beach, restaurants , and an awesome mall for the day it rained. The view from the room was great. The pool area was nice, clean, a little crowded most mornings and afternoons. We had breakfast at the hotel two of the days which was a bit expensive for four of us, the food was great compared to any breakfast we had near there. There was no refrigerator in room, I have never stayed in a hotel in the USA without one before. The air conditioning in the room was very loud which woke us up most nights. Overall we enjoyed our stay!

Room Tip: Make sure to get a room that the air conditioning is not over the bed!

Hopefully we will see you again soon!

Just got home from a weekend at B ocean. I went there for a family wedding. The bride and groom booked rooms for out of town guests.
I Loved the hotel with it's minimalist modern decor. The room had a jaw dropping view of the ocean, it was very clean and the bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in.
The only thing it was missing was a coffee maker. The ocean is across the street and the pool is in the back. The pool was clean and warm. We enjoyed piña coladas by the pool bar.
The wedding ceremony and reception was held on the pent house floor and was beautiful.
Service was great throughout the hotel. From the waitress by the pool to the front desk check in
The waitstaff at the restaurant everyone was supper helpful and nice. I would definitely come back here and stay again.

Treated very well. Old hotel, smartly renovated. Comfy beds, and the views are all of the ocean. Ate at SAIA restaurant, and the food was very very good - had lots of appetizers and their cocktails are hand made and creative. Had breakfast at their Bistro - terrific buffet. The welcome wine in the evening was also a very nice touch.

This hotel is walking distance to Fort Lauderdale's Bonnet House and to catching the water taxi and to the Galleria Mall. The beach is directly across the street.

Overall, this was a wonderful experience from check in to check out. I'd come back!

Thank you for your kind review of the hotel, we're so glad to hear you enjoyed your stay! SAIA does have amazing food and cocktails. The next time you visit us, make sure to order one of my personal favorites, the Ruby Foo and Ocean Blue Roll (if you're a sushi fan :)).
