We were a group of 3 couples who stayed for 7 days. The first room was booked online and the other through Otels.com. Before arriving I reconfirmed all rooms by email and faced a few issues but finally had all confirmed.
We the first couple were stuck in Philadelphia due to a missed connection, so we rang the hotel to let them know we wouldn't be arriving till the following morning and to allow the others to check-in under our name. The lady was grateful that we had called to let them know, however upon our friends checking-in they were told there was no booking under any of the names. After some time all was sorted out, but it felt like all the reconfirmations were a waste of time.
The hotel itself is very nice. Its an older building and from behind looks like a giant bunker but has been renovated really well. Check-in is very South Beach, with lots of white and neon, but done tastefully. We always found the front desk to be fully staffed with really helpful people. Especially Barry Jones who was the most helpful.
The room itself (Type Stunning Room - Floor to Ceiling Windows) was great. Lots of natural light and everything felt fresh and new. We had two double beds for two couples and there was enough wardrobe space for us all. It never felt cramped. The bathroom was great and the water pressure was really good. The only issue for us was the frosted glass window between the bathroom and sleeping area. Only because when the lights on you could see everything.
The pool was a good size and we never had problems finding a spot to relax also there were always towels available. I preferred that the pool was behind the hotel, because on some days the beach was really windy and the hotel protected the pool area from this. The bar is also quite good, nothing overly expensive.
The location is probably where its not amazing. Its a bit of a walk down to the main Restaurant / bar area but thats also a good thing as there is little noise. The beach however is straight across the road, which is great. Theres a shopping mall just down the road, thats ok. But if you drive 25 mins directly down the same road you will come to shopping heaven, SAWGRASS MILLS! There is also a big supermarket just around the corner.
Watch out for the Valet Parking at $28 + tax + tips. We were lucky as we were 6 people so it wasn't so much per day. Note; sadly there are no other parking options.
Breakfast was included for us and was great. A good variety and the staff were really helpful and friendly. However if you were to pay the $16 plus tax plus tip, maybe goto one of the places just around the corner. Most hotel buffets are expensive anyways, they are only worth it if its included.
However, if you can get a good deal ($215USD per night for 4 with breakfast over Xmas) then I would recommend this place.
