Truluck's was walking distance from the hotel so we gave it a shot since Capital Grille was booked up. Ambiance of the restaurant is very trendy and piano player was superb. Waiter was very attentive and friendly. Two of us ordered the center cut filet-one had a nice crust cooked to perfection, the other did not have a crust and over cooked. Side veggies of brussell sprouts had potential if they had not been drenched in soy sauce. Medium stone crabs were very disappointing as we had previously been wowed by Joe's Stone Crabs in Miami. They were cracked and bits of shell and ice got stuck in our teeth trying to find the pieces of crab. Not enjoyable trying to find the crab and worry about choking on shell bits.

Truluck's had been suggested by the desk clerk at Gallery One Hotel - glad we took her suggestion. We expected higher prices, but were pleasantly surprised by the value. It did not hurt to be there when they had their wines at half price, but it would still have been good value. The food was enjoyed and the service was attentive.

The service was outstanding. The food was excellent and the proporthions were of decent size. I went with my boyfriend while we were on vacation; it was the best meal we had the whole time. We didn't have room for dessert, but we got it anyway and it was the best chocolate cake I ever had. It was a fun and modern atmosphere. I am definitely going back next time I'm in the area.

We were in Fort Lauderdale last week to escape the cold in DC and had an opportunity to go to Truluck's. What a great place. The hostess was very friendly and talked with us all the way to the table. The server was extremely knowledgeable and the crab presentation was very informative. We ended ordering some stone crabs and caesar salads for appetizers. The crabs were delicious. Came cracked and ready to eat. For the main courses we had the trout and the surf and turf which was an Alaskan king crab leg and a filet. All the dishes were very good. Crab fried rice was the perfect side. After dinner was another informative dessert presentation and we opted for the chocolate sack. The general manager even came over to our table to ask us if everything was satisfactory. We told him it was outstanding!! Can't wait to go back.

Very upscale in setting but attached to the mall. Expensive for what you get and the stone crab claws, their "signature dish" were far from outstanding. Accompanying vegetables of grilled asparagus ( too thick and tough) and parmesan potatoes (pasty) were disappointing. The bread was quite good. If this is stone crab then I will go back to Alaska king crab legs (and a different restaurant).
