During a recent vacation stay in Ft. Lauderdale, my traveling companion & I stumbled upon this diamond in the rough. Following a day of shopping at the Galleria & Sawgrass Mills Mall, we ended the evening with dinner. Our first choice was Blue Martini; however, the crowd was much too rambunctious & the music much too loud. Next door was Truluck's. The hostess was most pleasant & immediately seated us at a booth, even though we had no reservation. We were next engaged by the evening's manager who was equally as pleasant & very accommodating. We advised her that we were vacationing from Philadelphia & celebrating my birthday. Much to our surprise, she provided us with a server who too is from the Philadelphia region - her name, Camisha. After surveying the menu & listening to the specials, we ordered Sea Bass with Crab Fried Rice & a Citrus Slaw. Too say that the food was good is an understatement - it was to die for. Following the meal, Camisha brought out a portion of chocolate bread pudding with a raspberry glace & vanilla ice cream on a plate with Happy Birthday written in chocolate. In addition, there was a birthday card signed by several of Truluck's staff. To top of the evening, she then provided us with complimentary desert - carrot cake. This was truly a wonderful reception to hospitality in Ft. Lauderdale. I highly recommend this establishment & will dine here again if ever in the Ft. Lauderdale area.
