I stayed at the Crowne Plaza for one night after a cruise. The hotel does offer a shuttle from the cruise terminal, for a price of 8$ (per person), and is located seconds from the port. However, I prefared to rent a car (most of the rental companies offer free shuttles from the port to their location, mainly in the airport). Thriffty is just across the street from the hotel, and has a free shuttle from the port.
Upon arrival the reception staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They remembered my name, and greeted me by name everytime I passed by (and even found me a screwdriver when I needed one).
The room was big and clean, and had a new feeling. And although the hotel is located on a main street, it was very quiet.
I didn't have the opportunity to use most of the hotel facilities, but there is a very nice pool and a small but modern gym.
Parking costs 10$ per night.
It's a highly recommended hotel before or after a cruise, and an excellent value for money.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the cruise terminal, this way you can see your ship before you sail

This was our first ever stay in Fort Lauderdale. We had previously stayed at the Crowne Plaza in Anaheim California and had a good experience so we chose to go with them again in Fort Lauderdale. We stayed two nights and boarded a cruise after that. There were 3 couples traveling together so we booked 3 rooms. We arrived at the airport late evening and called the hotel using a house phone. They sent the shuttle and picked up the 6 of us within about ½ hour. Both the airport and the cruise terminal are very close to this hotel which was very convenient for our purposes. The down side of that is there is not a lot to do within walking distance of the hotel so a rental car or cab is required to get out and about. We were checked into our room quickly. The room was spacious and very comfortable. I’m not sure why, but I enjoyed the best night sleep I had in years the night we arrived. We found the restaurant a great place for breakfast. Food and value was good. The pool area is on the shady side of the building but is a nice location to spend a few hours during the day. We did call a cab and went out for dinner both nights we were there. There was a bit of a line up to get the van to the cruise terminal and there was a small charge for the service. We would not hesitate to use this hotel again for future trips. Wi Fi worked good.

pros – very convenient to airport and cruise terminal, clean, nice rooms.
cons – isolated from shopping and restaurants. Hotel lounge was overpriced and service was a bit grumpy.

We stayed at this hotel the night before our cruise. There was a free shuttle from the airport that picked us up without delay. The concierge also took care of our shuttle to the cruise ship and the airport upon our return to fly home. The cost was minimal. All of the staff members were friendly and helpful.

The room was spacious (even for three people) with a fridge and microwave. We had a gorgeous view of the cruise ship from the room window when we woke up. The restaurant had a nice bar where you could watch sporting events as well. I highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed here while visiting family in the area. Did not use any of the amenities however room was nice and quiet and we didn't need much more. We actually received a handicap room (didn't request) and it was very large. Only complaint was the parking situation was a little confusing. The parking garage is under the building and when we pulled in there were no attendants there to greet us, so we self parked. While waiting for the elevator a parking attendant found us and wanted me to walk him back to the car with our luggage in tow. After some back and forth we worked out the situation for the evening but it was a pain...

New hotel with great amenities. Friendly staff, on-site restaurant...everything you would expect from a 4-5 star hotel. But, most all, Carl took the time to explain all the hotel had to offer and then some. I recommend this hotel for anyone spending time in Fort Lauderdale area.

Room Tip: Get a top floor room...nice view
