Owner description: A "Must" in Fort Lauderdale for years! Experience a little southern hospitality on this "All You Wish to Eat" BBQ Ribs, Chicken and Shrimp Dinner Cruise served family style with all the trimmings. Enjoy a pleasant and humorous commentary by the Captain about the many interesting sights and beautiful homes you'll see as we cruise up the New River, past Millionaire's Row, en route to our tropical isle to enjoy dinner and a hilarious Variety Show. The show is followed by a moonlit ride back to the dock. More than 18 million guests over the years have enjoyed the fun-filled, relaxing evening aboard. A unique evening you'll talk about, laugh about and always remember. There is nothing else like it. Jungle Queen also offers fully narrated daily Sightseeing Cruises up the historic New River past plush waterfront homes, downtown Fort Lauderdale, and a stop-off at our tropical isle to see rare birds, monkeys and an alligator exhibition. The only true way to see Fort Lauderdale.

Several times, I have taken clients for a cruise on the Jungle Queen. Each time, I was not disappointed. There is narrator onboard telling you what you are seeing on the shore. The mansions are magnificent. You'll see lovely birds and beautiful floral gardens. The last time I visited I saw the "airplane" boat which originally belonged to Howard Hughes. I was so fascinated with the boat that I immediately "googled" it when I got back to the hotel.

I've booked the cruises with dinner and without. How surprised I was the first time I rode the Jungle Queen. I never realized that Ft. Lauderdale had its own "Venice".

There is affordable parking next door at the hotel...not that far to walk to the dock...or you can park across the street in a pay public parking area.

Don't forget to take your camera.

We really enjoyed ourselves it was a great boat ride and the captain was so much fun and very nice. The food was great but I wish the servers would have smiled a little more.We thought the highlight of the day came in the evening with the entertainment.Loved Mr.A and his puppets what a fun show.Michael the Impressionist singer& comedian should be playing in Las Vegas that's how good we thought he was especially turning from Dean Martin into Elvis was fantastic and we're still talking about it today:)Mr.Johnson the mc was so heartwarming. We know good entertainment when we see it.All in all it was a beautiful day and we will tell all of our friends back home when we fly back tomorrow that when they visit south florida make sure to go on the Jungle queen..It was good fun!

We enjoyed this attraction. The commentary was interesting. The food was excellent - especially the barbequed ribs and they really do serve you all you can eat of everything. The price was reasonable for a 4 hr. activity and all that was included. The show was good. Mitch the magician/comedian was excellent and very funny; a lot of interaction with the audience. My only negative comment is that the impersonator was talented but sexual comments were not appropriate for family entertainment.

I came on the Jungle Queen 30 years ago and it was very different.
The bathrooms are filthy!
The animal display is generic.
The boat is old and dirty.
The food was okay.
The dessert was generic.
Overall very disappointing!

There are apparently at least 4 touristy ways to see the canals, riverfront homes and yachts in Ft. Lauderdale from the water (the only way to really see it). If a tourist, you must do at least one. Jungle Queen has two daytime tours, and an evening dinner tour. We did the afternoon one. Morning one @ 9:30 might be tough following an insane rush hour - on weekdays. Wouldn't choose it unless you knew exactly where you were going, or were very close by; leave a little early if you do. Jungle Queen's is a "three hour tour" - like Gilligan's Island, so it appears to be the best value. Have done the Water Taxi and wouldn't again - doesn't run on time and can waste a whole day waiting for your ride with the hop on/off. The schedules are a joke.

So, Jungle Queen - the good - nice ride, on-time, on-board water fountain and restrooms, reasonably comfortable open air, yet covered seating, very much appreciated in hot Florida sun. Live, entertaining tour narration. They let you take snacks and drinks on board. They also give you a pretty good ride and views. Something else that pleasantly surprised us. We got there very early and lined up to get good seats (actually, if not real busy - there are PLENTY of "good seats"). We were told that during the "island" departure to remember you seat, which you get to return to for the ride back. Thoughtful. Some people complain that the ride back is the same. No matter who you ride with, the ride back will be the same.

The "but..." You have to pay for parking - a deal with a hotel. It cost us $6.00. Parking in South Florida can be troublesome, so there really was no other choice. I guess all attractions now you can expect to pay for parking. It was a bit of a walk from the car to the boat and we had some family members with disabilities. You can pick up and drop off, but the departure area was tight - barely one way. It's right off the road too - lots of customers trying to get through. Luckily, they have an attendant to assist with information.

Did find something possibly helpful, there is something called the "Sun Trolley" that drove right past. They have an app too. Seemed it might be a good way to get around without a car and all the parking issues. Oh, even as a Floridian - South Florida drivers are completely nuts, like driving in NYC.

The "island" is disturbing. Food was sub-par and VERY expensive for a hot dog or burger sitting around in a Styrofoam box. I think a pathetic hamburger was $6.00. Bottled water was expensive and some cheapie off brand to boot. It appears to be there purely as another profit center. You are trapped for 45 minutes. The "animals" were not that exotic and only just a few in cages and a couple of peacocks. The alligator wrestling show may be interesting to some. Just found the whole island stop depressing. Felt sorry for the animals. On the plus side they had clean restrooms with plenty of stations.

Still overall, not a bad "attraction" and worth the price.
