If you like historical tours, the Bonnet House tour is very interesting. The house is a little different than most of the others having been built by eclectic artists. The gardens aren't exactly what I expected thinking of botanical gardens I've visited, but still very nice to walk around and see the land and landscaping. A little pricey at $20 per person, but still an interesting few hours.

This attraction showcased how the well to do lived in what was once a wilderness. Very interesting tour. We liked the tour because it had a real person not a headset----try asking a headset a question. It would have been nice to see the upper level.

Fascinating and sadly, there are many places left to discover in South Florida. I have lived in this area for over 20 years and visited Bonnet House and Museum for the first time last Sunday, having gone to an Orchid Event. Peaceful with lush foliage and waterways, you are sure to discover a special retreat. There is a calendar of events, including starlight concerts, which will offer all an opportunity to experience the beauty of South Florida's tropical paradise.

Our guide made it so- what a masterful storyteller who knew his history! Exceeded expectations - I wish I could have stayed there in its heyday!

History, stories and a winter way of life has been preserved here.

The day I took a tour we had a painter as our tour guide and that was a nice bonus. There were only 4 of us which was also nice.

You will not be able to take a lot of nice photos here, but it is worth going on the tour and through the place for all of the history and what there is to see. Our guide took us through most of the place, but then we could not go up to the 2nd story. We watched a 10 minute video which really did not give us a very good glimce of what is up there, but it was filled with more nice history and video of a long time resident of Bonnet House that was really neat to see.

Oddly, the name of the place was not clear while I was there or on the tour. I learned that later going through some things on web sites. Much of all of the yellow paint that you will see and the name is after the Bonnet Lily, yellow.
