“Pretty grounds to walk around”
Reviewed February 4, 2013

We didn't have time to take the 1 1/2 hour house tour, so we just walked the grounds. Very nice and soothing walk with nice ponds, water lilies, etc. We'll definitely take the house tour next time we visit Ft. Lauderdale.

“Guided tours through beautiful property”
Reviewed February 2, 2013

They offer a nice tour of this landmark property. Some of the antiques and paintings we saw were exquisite. Who knew this was in good old Fort Lauderdale? Grounds also had a lot of plants and trees so we were temporarily shielded from the bustle and noise of the city

“Strange in paradise”
Reviewed February 2, 2013

The Bonnet House is a must see, another world in the middle of a big town. Hundreds of acres of imaginative landscaping, and a house so original it defies ready description--beautiful, but in an off-beat and interesting way--nothing stuffy about this mansion. The history behind this property is as interesting as anything you see, so be sure to take the tour. These are founders of Fort Lauderdale, when it was a beautiful wildnerness. Enough to make you nostalgic for the old Florida.

“Frederic Bartlett's widow signed his legacy”
Reviewed January 29, 2013

The talented and reknown artist Frederic Bartlett married several times. He saw his wife and son, as well as his step-daugther die in his lifetime. However, his second wife ensured him a legacy by leaving this 35 acre estate as is, paintings and all. Dane Jensen does a spectacular job narrating the tour. Animals we saw today were an iguana, swans and turtles. They offer a golf cart tour, but if you plan the visit you can easily do it on foot and be on time for the tour.
