If you come to Fort Lauderdale (or even if you live in the area) and you haven't experienced Bonnet House, you have been deprived! What a cool place!! A funky and fun old house (and beautiful grounds) right on the beach! Full of history and romance. Visit!!!

“Historic Gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 10, 2012

Our visit to the Bonnet House was one of the most enjoyable days we've spent on our vacation in south Florida. This is not only because it is so key to the history of Ft Lauderdale, but also because every single person we met who was connected to the house was so pleasant and informative. The fascinating history of the site was enthusiastically communicated by Don, our house tour guide, who had an encyclopedic knowledge of the family and the estate. And what a story he had to tell! Then we took a tram tour of the estate (for only $2 ea) with a friendly, knowledgable guide who took us on an informative trip around the estate where we learned about trees planted almost 100 years ago by the Bartlett family, among many other things. We even saw the resident squirrel monkeys!
