We had been to da Campo before, but this time we decided to try the "Chef's Table." At the Chef's Table you are seated at a bar-height counter right in front of the grills. The chefs prepare individual portions of any number of dishes, and the food just keeps coming until you cry "uncle". With each dish the chef first explains what it is and how it is prepared. If you'd like anything altered the chefs are happy to comply. We were served by a wonderful team: Chef Ray was the boss, assisted by Chefs Mark and Lucky. To assist them we had Sergio as our waiter as well. They made us feel like were the only people in the restaurant who mattered! A sampling of our meal: seafood ceviche, shrimp cocktail (with a delicious passion fruit cocktail sauce), meatball on pasta, scallop on risotto, veal with prosciutto, fresh mozzarella (made fresh in front of us) with roasted garlic, figs, prosciutto, pesto, balsamic and oil... and a few more. Even after we cried "uncle" we had some rum raisin gelato and an incredible chocolate chip souffle with coffee gelato and marscapone. These descriptions do not do justice to the dishes: you'd have to taste them all to appreciate them. If you want a truly special meal in Fort Lauderdale, try the Chef's Table at da Campo.
