“Incredible Stay-Nice Hotel/Excellent Customer Service!!”
Reviewed July 1, 2009

I planned this hotel as an "airport in" hotel on my way down to the Flordia Keys due to its location and reviews!! What I found was a very nice hotel with incredible customer service. We had booked a King Tower Room and we were upgraded on arrival to a King Junior Suite with a balcony over looking the ocean!! I could not have been happier! The location to the airport was wonderful, the hotel was more than I expected, the staff were all wonderful. I looked at several sites online and they do have alot of specials going on so look this up on all the sites. It is well worth it!! Even after we checked out we stayed to relax by the pool and have lunch!! Note: There is a parking fee whether you are self parking or vallet parking. I used the vallet and came and went alot with no problems. I am sorry we got side tracked from ordering our usual room service breakfast on the balcony-it was pricey but when in Rome enjoy!! I was given a Hyatt gift certificate for meals if I return and I will return!! This Hotel was probally one of the best stays I have had and I was so sorry that I left it!!

  • Liked — The hotel and staff were as expected-a perfect stay-no suprises!
  • Disliked — That I had to leave!

I travel in excess of 150 nights a year on business, have stayed in many Hyatt's this hotel by far is the best managed and has the best staff I have ever been to nationwide.
The rooms are impecable, the facility has it all. The staff at the front desk is efficiant polite, helpfull and soo professional. The wait staff at the bar/resteraunt is willing to go to anylength to make your meal perfect.
I'm not selling this place I'm being honest this is a top shelf hotel probably the best i have stayed at among all the big chains and rivals the top of the line hotel. I'm amazed at the general attitude the management has instilled in the staff. It's refreshing to find a place like this.

We stayed the night prior to our cruise departing and the night our cruise ended. Our first night we stayed in the towers. Room was plenty big for the four of us and nicely appointed and clean. We had lunch at the restaurant on the dock and food was great. The walk through the Marina was nice looking at all the yachts and very friendly owners saying hello as you passed. We didn't see Oprah but saw her yacht. WOW! Took the water Taxi into town for dinner... what a great way to get around and the operator of
the boat (Chris) gave a very informative cruise, pointing out various homes and the stories that went along with them. Not the same on the return boat ride. When we awoke the next morning we could see our ship from our balcony. Check in and check out was extremely quick and bell staff very helpfull. I called a week ahead and Paul at the concierge desk made arrangements for airport pick-up and transport to the ship. On our return stay we had a lanai room directly on the canal with two beautiful yachts docked right outside our window. The room again was plenty large, clean and nicely apppointed. Just didn't like the sliding door in the bathroom. No privacy. Had lunch by the pool and water taxi to town for dinner. We used my Hyatt points for both nights and unlike other hotels we were given the best accomodations even though we used points. The hotel is beautiful and immaculate. Staff is extremely pleasant and accomodating. I highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed at the hotel one night pre-cruise. We got the room for a great special rate and I was looking forward to starting our trip in luxury. I guess because we got the good rate we were put in one of the of the older rooms. No complaints, it was certainly an adequate room, just nothing special. You get what you pay for. There are several restaurants at the hotel, but the choices were limited and they did not interest us. We ended up walking about a mile to get to a restaurant that we liked. In the morning we only wanted a very light breakfast and the hotel restaurant had a choice of a huge buffet or fancy a la carte choices. We wanted something simple, we would be boarding a ship for a 15 day cruise in a few hours. So again we took the mile walk to get to a cafe restaurant for our lite breakfast. If we had wanted to take a taxi, there was always one waiting at the front entrance. Watch the time you leave because the bridge opens every half hour.

The staff was wonderful. They helped us find the restaurants for breakfast and dinner that meet our needs perfectly.

The hotel had a beautiful pool and we spent several hours there on both days reading and relaxing.

There was a gas station convenience store across the road.

The hotel does not supply transportation to and from the airport of the cruiseport. Our total for the taxis was $30, about $23 for from the airport and $7 to the cruise terminal.

The hotel was a stop on the water ferry. We did not get to the hotel until 3:30. The ferry had a 1 day pass, not a 24 hour pass and we thought we did not have enough time to take advantage of the hop on hop off feature. This might be a bonus if you are staying for a few days.

Where to start...It was all wonderful! We arrived late. Paul our bellman was wonderful! He dirrected us to the restraunt while the room was being finished. Food was good. Our room was great! In the morning we went to the breakfast buffet. You have to go to the buffet! The food was wonderful! Every day our biggest decision was when to go to the beach. Our shuttle driver Olivia always had a smile and some information on what we could do. The staff is second to none at Pier 66. They are always ready to help, gather information, and get
dirrections. The pool staff is wonderful also. Frozen grapes and minted chilled wash clothes in the afternoon! How cool is that? The restraunt next to the pool has great lunch/snacks! We suggest when you are in Fort Lauderdale you should stay here!!!!!!!!
A great value! Recomended 100%!

We have been staying at Hyatt Pier 66 for about 20 years. It stagnated and made few changes until the last several years. New owners made excellent improvements and updates on areas that seemed dated. Youthful management energized a wonderful team and the result is a very comfortable, attractive, relaxing, upscale resort with a great location, beautiful grounds, excellent restaurant on the grounds and new lobby bar and breakfast room done extremely well.

Our most recent stay was in March,2009 for four days though we stayed for 8 days last June. Our stay was outstanding in almost all ways.

Staff makes it a point to remember former guests, a warm greeting and welcome back is always pleasant. Fast, easy check in, upscale breakfast buffet (though 'from the menu' ordering is certainly available). They have a huge pool area with lots of comfortable chaises and sun/shade areas. TGreat patio area for lunch at the pool and large bar with tv's for sports viewing etc. They also boast a fabulous Marina that makes for lovely walk and 'look about'. Beautiful grounds on acres of manicured gardens/lawn.
Some of the rooms are ready for a bit of sprucing but are spotlessly clean and comfortable. Very comfy beds. Double sink bathrooms and good housekeeping. Balconies and beautiful views.

Highly recommend and we have two future bookings in place.
