“Good location”
Reviewed May 2, 2014

Stayed here for one night before a cruise. Very close to the terminal, such a great location. Had a room in the tower, large and airy, and a great view, could see all the cruise ships comeing in, as we were up at the crack of drawn ( still on british time). Breakfast the next morning was supurb and plentiful, although a little pricey it was worth it. All in all a great start to our holiday. Did i mention the friendly attentive staff.Well worth a stay.

Room Tip: Tower rooms are quieter than the rooms around the pool.

Responsiveness of staff and attitude is poor. Availability of services is limited. Hotel seems depressing and is an awful place to stay for business. I'm not sure it's all that great for a vacation either. staff attitude seems condescending...like.hey you are lucky we let you stay here. Take your business elsewhere is my suggestion. These are my opinions of course and apparently others have enjoyed their stay. I'm not sure what they're measuring against however because I think this place is not very good at all. I travel over 100 days a year and I have stated a number of Hyatts to compare this to an I don't think much of it. Of course I did not pay very much in terms of the nightly rate so perhaps that's the reason ..you get what you pay for and my thoughts are that this Hyatt is cheap and substandard.

I just spent two weeks with my family at Hyatt Pier 66 in March 2014 to escape the never ending winter up north. I have stayed here many times but it was usually just for a long weekend after a cruise. The Hyatt offered a great rate that included full breakfast. I was pleasantly surprised at check in when I was upgraded to a Junior Suite. The property is so lush with Royal Palm trees and impeccably beautiful landscaping . The pool is one of the nicest in Ft. Lauderdale with waterfalls and attentive poolside food and bar service. The entire staff was always friendly and remembered our names. The hotel has a water taxi that drops you off at the beach, shopping mall, Las Olas blvd. where there are several dozen restaurants and bars etc. The Hyatt also has great dining options including the Pelican Landing and a steakhouse Grill 66 ( happy hour 5-7 !!) that overlooks the inter coastal, It is just amazing looking out at all of the yachts. If I could have stayed longer I would have but I plan on going back ASAP!!.

Room Tip: There are walk out poolside rooms that look really nice.

The hotel is in a good location close to the beach but not in walking distance. Easy to find and get to from the Ft. Lauderdale airport. Service personnel is ok, not as professional, friendly or helpful as you would expect at a hotel like this. We had a room on the second floor by the pool (not in the tower) facing towards the outside not the pool area. No balcony or walkout like other rooms had so you might want to ask for that. When we checked into the room there were dog hairs, long human hairs and just crumbs and dirt on the floor - we asked the cleaning lady who was outside the room if she could sweep it so she came in with a clunky old broom and "cleaned". Not impressed with the cleanliness or age of the room and/or décor, the room felt old, shutters were falling apart, bed was very uncomfortable and we actually had to roll up a towel to put under the room door to the outside because there was a 2 Inch gap between door and floor. Room size was good but would have liked a second chair or small table. Bathroom was very spacious with extra dresser and low table, but inconvenient to use because it was long and narrow. Great and spacious shower. The view of the room was to a canal of the inter coastal and we could watch the big yachts pull in and dock right outside of our room. Cool in a way, not so cool when they pulled in pretty noisy with engine noise and people yelling at 1.30 am and lit up our whole room.
I tagged along for my husband's conference and the conference rooms were ok as far as he thought. Pool was nice, good service at the pool and pool bar. Easy access to the water taxi from the end of the pier by the hotel - great tour for reasonable amount to downtown Ft. Lauderdale and to see all the celebrity mansions along the water.
Self Parking is expensive at $20 per day. The hotel store had a few useful things like bug repellent or personal hygiene things, but everything else in there was way overpriced, and store personnel was extremely unprofessional. We did not dine at the hotel other than a breakfast sandwich at the pool bar at reasonable prices. We would probably stay again (at the discounted hotel rate for convention members), but would definitely choose a different room with balcony or walkout.

This hotel is well worth the money, we extended our stay 3 days. You will not find a friendlier staff anywhere from the lobby to housekeeping and restaurant staff everybody smiles chats and are very accommodating. Not on the beach but a free shuttle will take you there also the sun trolley runs every half hour and stops right in front of hotel. Extra bonus Avis rent a car are located in building, again staff that go out of the way to help. The rooms are large, clean and well appointed, pool area is very nice and the view is great.

Room Tip: All rooms seem to have a good view the higher floors are a little better

Stayed here for one night April/2014 just to begin thawing from a brutal Connecticut winter. The hotel was very clean, the staff was very friendly, my room was average size and clean. Balcony overlooking downtown skyline and marina which is under construction and the drawbridge was cool to watch open and close. Kind of a busy traffic area and a 20 minute walk to the beaches. however, there's a Sun Trolley (a bus designed like a trolley) that runs along route 17 and to the beach every 15-20 minutes, $1 dollar per person each way or $3 for the day. How can u beat that???? The trolley stop is right outside the hotel and I recommend it!! The hotel court yard/pool area is very tropical and filled with palm trees and other plants. The pool is very nice and spacious. Decent breakfast buffet on the main floor ($20 per person) Some nice restaurants and shops within walking distance but take the trolley if you don't like a good mile walk. Taxi from the airport was $15 and a about 4 miles. I would stay here again but probably will stay right on the beach next time.

This was my third trip to Pier 66. I think what makes the experience so rich is the staff. From check in to check out. The pool is wonderful. The marina is cool. I liked being able to go down check out the yachts up close. Love the tower view, although I hear the villas are very nice also. Met three different groups from Boston. I guess if you are from Boston you have to stay here.

Advice: Tip well and use the Bellman!

Room Tip: Try to get an even floor in the tower. Bigger balconey.
