Beautiful, spacious room and bath. Great corner view of ocean and pool. Pool was a great respit, made even more pleasant by the attentive service of Gerard and Judy.
Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the ocean was a pleasant start to every day.

Can’t beat the location for the price and the staff is incredible. Storm at the concierge desk is incredibly friendly and went out of his way to make us feel welcomed and took great care of our family. We will be back.

Me and my husband booked a last minute trip, when we got to our hotel we were very displeased ,then we drove to a hotel my husband stayed at several years ago and went in ,with our luck we met our angel #1-Ken Trumbell.My husband told him our situation and told him how he stayed here several years ago.Ken said he’d get us in but was concerned about Saturday.Needless to say ,he not only got us a room for all of our days he got us a beautiful oceanview room.When we arrived after cancelling our old room at the other hotel , that is when we met angel #2-Iris.She was spectacular in her customer service greeting us like she knew us for years.Took the time to show us on a map how to get to our room ,was very kind ,warming.Then she introduced us to angel#-3 Luis,who gave us very informative sheets of restaurants and activities that were going on during our stay and gave us each a bottled water and said don’t hesitate to ask him for any suggestions on where to go or what to do.The valet was excellent as well,prompt and swift and very polite.True gentlemen opening my door and always greeting me.Without those 3angels this review would have never been written. My vacation went from a 0-10 because of them and for that I’m truly grateful.

It is difficult to determine the overall rating for our stay at the Westin. I'm going to try to separate the review because that makes the most sense. For quality of checkin and delivery of a hotel room as we was promised/reserved it was the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. We called ahead to warn that we were coming in late and after almost 24 hours of travel we arrived to no rooms at 1 am in the morning. They told us that our two rooms had a plumbing issue at 11:30 pm so they were inhabitable. So not only did they now have our rooms but they had no rooms. They comped us one taxi to get to the other hotel they had reserved but it was a long way away, not even close to the same level and it was a weird hotel not on the beach. We also had to completely give them all information so we went to bed at 3:30 am. They did cover the cost of the one night. But the bigger issue is that they promised us rooms the next day back at the Westin but they then let the people checking out from the rooms have really late checkout! So we didn't get our rooms til maybe 4 pm the next day. They should not have extended late checkout to those people given the circumstances. We have the highest level of Marriott status and we're paying 500 per room per night. Robert, the assistant director, really tried to make it right. Kudos to him but I still think they should have figured out a closer nicer hotel and not extended late checkout to the two rooms they wanted to give to us. We paid 60 to get back to the Westin from the other hotel but most importantly we lost a full day of enjoying Fort Lauderdale out of only a day and a half there. The manager should have called us too but he/she didn't. I give them a 2, would have been a 1 except for Robert and the final rooms were really nice.

As for the hotel, it's older and the rooms are small and their lobby is not nice at all but they have a great onsite restaurant and their pool area is excellent and the access to the beach with the sky bridge is convenient. Their beds were very comfortable. We found the staff to be very nice except the front desk people who were not helpful at all, except Robert. We give the hotel amenities a 4 out of 5 but their facilities a 3 out of 5.

The location is convenient for beach access and to a public park. You can walk to restaurants. I would say stay here if you want to use the pool and beach and walk around. If you care more about your room size and hotel services or you need to make sure that you have a room I would not book this resort. If you are going on a cruise it's not a good choice because if you don't have a room and end up somewhere else it impacts your drive to the port. Otherwise the port is only 20 minutes away.

I should note that housekeeping comes at 8 am on the day you check out and tries to access your room so I'm guessing that it's their way of making sure that you check out on time?
