“Beautiful resort, frosty service, bathrooms with zero privacy”
Reviewed November 11, 2009

Overall, we loved our stay at this resort. Beautiful oceanfront location, top-notch bedding, gorgeous ocean-view deck pool, great skyline views, and conscientious, super-efficient valet parking staff.

The downsides? Reception staff were unfriendly and couldn't tell us whether or not it was possible extend our stay for a night (they advised us go online and check the Westin website ourselves instead, despite having a computer terminal in front of them). Also, the hotel rooms' bathrooms are strange -- instead of having four walls, they also have louvered wooden windows, which means that everyone in the room has to listen to exactly what is going on in the bathroom at all times. Not um, very romantic.

I stayed at this hotel with my husband and 3 year old. It is an amazing hotel and would highly recommend it. I would not recommend staying in the same room with another couple here though. The bathroom has a window shutter that did not close completely. That really didn't bother us and was pretty. The access to the beach and pool area was great. Beach towels are provided. The staff was extremely helpful. We needed to store milk for our son in the mini-bar refrigerator. The staff offered to bring us another refrigerator at no charge if it didn't fit inside (it did actually fit). Restaurants and bars are very close by.

We stayed at the Westin Beach Resort for one night before a cruise. It hotel is beautiful and has a great location. The rooms are on the small side and was VERY cramped for a family of 4. The bathroom had a louvered window into the bedroom which made privacy difficult.

The staff was great, everyone was nice. But I do have a few small complaints and I'm only saying them because I hope Westin management reads these boards.

First of all, no free shuttle from the airport. Hotels of Westins calibur usually provide that service. This Westin charges for it.

And my biggest complaint of all...although minor by the world's standards. I went to the pool bar and ordered a Bloody Mary. The bar tender pour one, small shot into a flimsy, plastic "glass." Then opened a grocery store brand of Bloody Mary mix, poured it into the glass and handed it to me. And charged me about $10 for it. COME ON!!! Again, a resort of Westin's calibur can do better than that. Most disappointing drink I've ever had.

I have stayed in many Westin Hotels and have been generally very satisfied, but this hotel is the worst by a long way. Postage stamp sized rooms and generally poor service make the high cost of the rooms very poor value. The sea view and location however are very good. The air conditioning in the room was tired, the bath/shower waste outlet was mostly blocked and 2 office chair wheels fell off. Front desk service was slow but the Bell and Bar staff were good.
Breakfast service was a joke we had to wait 25mins for coffee and 45mins for cornflakes!
Checked out and went into the Atlantic hotel just up the road.

We were very impressed with the Westin. The staff is so warming and friendly. A special Thanks to Wendy at the concierge desk for going above and beyond. The hotel itself was beautiful from the lobby to the room and its amazing beachfront view. We hope we get a chance to stay at the Westin next summer.

Stayed three nights here. The rooms were on the small side, but the beds are very comfortable. The bathroom was small and had a small counter area. The pool was very nice - it had lots of lounge chairs, a bar, food service, and a cabana. The pool water was a little too warm. They walked around every so often and offered iced towels and free samples of a banana smoothie (they were really good). Access to the beach is available right from the pool. There's a walkway that goes over the road and ends up right on the beach. Extra costs included valet parking only at $10 per day plus tips. However, I do have to say the valets were very good. And high speed internet was an extra cost at $10 per day.
