Great location and amenities. Only negative feedback is the noise outside my room when people close (slam) their door...but the views are breathtaking and the beach is very easy to access from the hotel bridge.

We checked into this westin after being priced out of the W next door. Still it about $330. Room is nice in a separate building then the main hotel nice view over pool. Came to the pool, put up our service flag. Waited about 40 minutes. A waitress came right to the couple next to us and never even acknowledged us! We waited then finally my husband went to the bar and ordered. When he said we waited for about a half hour the bartender just shrugged. It's the little service niceties that make you want to come back. Next time I'll go to the w.

We really enjoyed our stay here for a couple of nights.
The location is great for just taking the covered walkway across to the beach where good sun beds are provided for Westin guests.
This hotel is right on the strip with lots of restaurants and bars around within walking distance.

We had an ocean view room which was beautifully decorated in pastel colours which complimented the outside view. The bathroom was a little open plan but you can always close the shutters!

We did find the pool area a little too crammed with beds all too close together which led us to the beach. That said the restaurant by the pool is good for lunch.

Beware of internet charges!
We signed up for the wifi in room and upon checking out we were charged for using two devices per day as opposed to just one connection charge!
Most hotels allow up to three devices and some four!
The checkout receptionist was understanding and she did adjust the bill on this occasion!

We stayed here in December for one night before a cruise. The location was excellent; right next to the beach and there is plenty of restaurants and stuff around. The hotel itself was fantastic. The room was great, had an excellent gym and most of the staff (concierge staff seemed to be irritated by any questions) were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

I selected this hotel primarily based off of the great reviews I found on Tripadvisor. I found the reviews to be very accurate and was extremely pleased with our stay. We are unfamiliar with the Ft. Lauderdale Beach area but couldn't have picked a better location. We booked a standard "intercoastal view" room and were pleased that upon check in we were upgraded to a full oceanfront room as it was noted that we were celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary and my being in remission from cancer. We especially enjoyed opening the doors in the morning and listening to the ocean.

We found all of the staff and the concierge to be very helpful and enjoyed activities including the water taxi based on his recommendation as a great way to see Ft. Lauderdale. The weather was less than desirable, so we were unable to use the pool or visit the beach however we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and bring our kids along with the close proximity and easy beach access.

We appreciated their "green" efforts and enjoyed the $5 per night voucher that was offered at the Starbucks which is conveniently attached to the hotel.

All in all a great location with great people. Hospitality at its finest!

Room Tip: There is a SPG rewards member floor which is a nice high floor (good views) and complimentary bottle...

I will keep this brief, which is unlike me, because as far as hotels go, the Westin brand rarely misses any marks by my standards.
Having just checked out of a veritable HOVEL called Tropi Rock up the beach ( I was here a few days early prior to a conference I am employed to work on and was staying on the cheap) this was like like discovering Shangri-La!
It's a beautiful hotel right on the famous boardwalk. They even provide an indoor footbridge over A1A with an elevator down to the beach.
My room is well appointed with the customary fabulously luxurious bedding, the white tea soaps and the blah blah blah nice hotels stuff I expect from a Westin.
THIS IS THE INTERESTING BIT:
It's important to note a very distinctive and crucial flaw (in my opinion) in the bathroom design in my room; as well as other rooms I have seen given I am working with a group, and that is this:
The bathroom is quite small and pretty plainly appointed: small tub, toilet right there next to it, only one towel rack: in the tub which I hate! Hello! I shower in there!
But the significant flaw is this; the bathroom door is a slider that isn't at all solid; just wooden angled slats a- la window shutter so if you are standing right next to it you can basically peer through. ALSO and this is the kicker: there is a window in the bathroom wall that folds open into the room also made of the basically siv-like shutters. What this means is critical to anyone like myself who requires absolute bathroom privacy: When one is in the bathroom engaged in restroom activities, one has no actual solid barrier between you and the rest of the room. This means anyone sharing the room with you will be privy to all the wonderful sounds and smells that might be emanating from within! Including your Spouse, Friend, Co-worker (If your job sucks and makes you share) Parent (also sucks. sharing a room with a parent? yuk) or GOD FORBID A NEW LOVER/HOOK-UP!! I mean how obvious does it have to be that in a smallish hotel room the least an establishment like the Westin could do is ensure some separation from the fumes drifting up from the porcelain bowl and a lovers tender nostrils! Not to mention when THEY'RE in there; having to turn up your Ipod and pretend not to hear the groans and plop-splashes and the distinctive fecal odor drifting into the room ever-destroying the wonderful fantasy one has long maintained that one's lover simply doesn't evacuate their bowels! The HORROR!! I am SO glad my wife isn't here! I'm also glad that I refuse to share a hotel room with anyone other than my wife!
So all this to say: This is indeed a great hotel; if you are staying in the room alone, and have no designs on letting anyone else spend more than a few hours in the room with you. Otherwise you will doubtless find yourself concocting ridiculous and outlandish reasons why you simply MUST go down to the lobby to (fill in the dubious and lame blank) so you can covertly drop a deuce in the lobby restroom at 2am. Only then to have to respectfully pretend to believe your roommate's half-assed reasons for having to step out for a few minutes.
Westin darlings, do your guests a favour and seal in the bathrooms. Spend your design creativity on hiding a little TV in the mirror or have a mini fake fireplace in there or something, but let them poop in private! Having said that, there is something to leaving the damn window open and gazing into the sea imagining I'm dropping the Cosby Kids into the Atlantic ocean!
I said I would be brief...happily for you I lied!!

We had a wonderful king room overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The room was clean and we had great breezes coming through the sliding doors. The service, especially the pool staff, was very friendly and helpful. The bathroom was not remotely sound proof which made for very little privacy.
