Stayed one night prior to a cruise. The Riverside Hotel is very nice for an older facility. The rooms are TINY, however it was clean and comfortable. The bathrooms have supposed to have an art-deco kind of feel to them, but they’re more dated than retro.

We were on the 6th floor, right next to the storage room for the housekeepers, who were very loud early in the morning. Other than that, the room was nice & quiet, even for being next to the elevators. There was no trash can in our room; only one bucket labeled “recycle”.

The staff was very friendly and efficient. It did however take almost 30 min. for a taxi to arrive. There are a couple of restaurants within the hotel itself, and several others within a half-block walk, along with a lot of novelty shops. I recommend checking out the menus at the neighboring establishments as well; most had them available on the sidewalk out front.

Overall I would recommend the Riverside Hotel if you’re into classic refurbished hotels, and aren’t looking for a lot of modern amenities (including floorspace).

My husband and I stayed for 4 days for business trip. It is pet friendly so we could bring along our treasured dog who enjoyed the Riverwalk every day. All of the staff was so very nice and accommodating. We couldn't have asked for more but on our last day, we left some clothing in the closet of the room. A staff member called us to let us know but we were already 100 miles away. A very nice staff member, Edwin, let us know he would be happy to ship our clothes to us and did so which arrived promptly. Not only is this hotel close to shops, restaurants, and beautiful scenery, it is a 5 star hotel with a wonderful staff all around. We will definitely being staying again. Thanks to each and everyone for making our stay and very pleasant one!

My wife and I stayed at this hotel before a cruise. We found the location to be great, lots of nearby shops, and great restaurants. The hotel is a little bit dated, but had a lot of character. Our room was very clean, spacious, and our sleep quality was great.
We went to the bar in the hotel lobby area and had a great time talking to the bartender. Very friendly and professional staff, great atmosphere. We had breakfast outside in the morning. Service was great, food was great, and we enjoyed sitting outside.
I find all the hotels in this area to be over-priced, but we had no regrets about this hotel, and would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: The lower the floor the better, elevators are terribly small.

Hi 40oceanblue,

Thank you so much for your feedback on TripAdvisor! We're thrilled you loved our hotel as well as all the amenities. We're getting a complete internal makeover this year so we hope to see you back next to receive your valued feedback. As far as the elevator goes, it's actually from 1936 -fun historical part of our hotel :)

We'd can't wait to see you back soon and the winter shapes up soon for you in Canada!

It was a pity that this was only a one-night stay before a cruise, with an arrival in the early evening and check-out the next morning. We were greeted warmly, and efficiently checked-in to a room which had ample space and which was in good condition, although it had a slightly clinical and charmless feel to it. It's a pity that we couldn't make more of the hotel's location on Las Olas Boulevard, which looked lively and energetic on this Saturday night.

The only unsatisfactory thing was breakfast in Indigo, which wasn't interesting and for which service was very disorganised.

We stayed here for one night prior to embarking on our cruise! The staff here were super accommodating and friendly, rooms were decent though the carpets were rotten! Yikes! Bathrooms could use a facelift and they were small, but clean. The food in the restaurant was pretty good and not too over priced. I would stay here again.

I stayed at the Riverside Hotel from February 12 to the 15th. There was a problem getting to the hotel because my original flight from Atlanta to Ft. Lauderdale was cancelled. I called the hotel and told them I was arriving very early on February 13 and to hold my room booking for the 12th so I could get into my room when I arrived. The hotel handled this perfectly.

I needed transport from the airport in Miami when my rerouted flight arrived. That booking through the hotel concierge was handled very well.

I had dinner at the hotel's Golden Lion restaurant on February 14. The meal was very good. There was a problem with debris in the wine I had ordered. Ken Williams, the food and beverage manager handled the problem expeditiously and graciously.

My room was clean but a bit dated. The breakfasts at the Indigo Restaurant was good and the prices were in keeping with this area. All told I had great service and a pleasant stay.
