The Riverside Hotel is - in of itself - a good hotel. Pretty clean rooms/floors, nice lobby, and quite helpful staff. There are, however, two sections to the hotel. Be sure to book the "new tower" as opposed to the older (original) tower as the rooms in the original tower are oddly shaped and a bit on the small side. My last experience there was, interesting - I checked in and was directed to a room that, when I opened the door, had some sort of industrial carpet drying unit on the floor drying up what looked like had been some sort of biological liquid...we'll leave it at that. Hey, things happen...

The pool is actually removed from the property, separated by a road - it's not a big deal, just a bit odd. The cool trade-off however, is that the pool sits right on the river which is nice.

That said, the location of the Riverside is what truly sets this place apart from other accommodations in the area. Park the car, and leave it in the garage! Walking distance to all the restaurants, shops, and sights you'd want - the river taxi is a cool day trip (they'll drop you off at all the bars along the river and pick you up again, for a decent rate), and the beach is about 2 miles up the road which makes for a nice walk.

Looking to be in the heart of all the action of Las Olas? Check out the Riverside.

Room Tip: Book and confirm that you're in the new tower as opposed the original.

We had a large tower room on the 9th Floor. Clean as a whistle, comfy beds & very accommodating front desk & concierge staff. Location for Las Olas & the water taxi is excellent.

Charming, historical property. Didn't see the pool but made full use of the small gym.

Best hotel I have stayed in when visiting Fort Lauderdale. Definitely my first choice when we are next in the area!

If your looking for a spot that requires no travel by car this is it. Take a walk down the street for the shops and restaurants. Hop on the trolley car or bus.Take the water taxi up and down the waterways, every thing is here one could need for a great relaxing vacation. Cost by taxi about 20.00 from the airport, transport to the cruise area for 10.00 by a service the hotel will set up for you
Rooms were a bit smaller, but clean and well kept. Staff is great!

Room Tip: We were in the older area of the hotel and got a good rate from Expeida, room was great.

Arrived in town early, Hotel allowed us to check in around 1:30, which we appreciated. Clean rooms comfortable beds, and best of all, right in the middle of the action on Las Olas Blvd. Friendly staff, desk clerks even gave us free passes for the trolley. The only bad thing was when we went to the room in the middle of the day and the maid was coming out of the room with what looked like a toilet brush dripping water all over the carpet. Yucky. I tried to put it out of my mind, as I didn't have any slippers or flip flops this trip because of baggage restrictions, so was walking around room bare footed. I'm kind of a germaphobe. I would definitely stay here again. In fact, I can't wait to go back to Ft Lauderdale!

Great couple of days spent at the Riverside....our flight touched down shortly before midnight. The hotel has an arrangement with a privately owned shuttle service to provide transportation. Shuttle was not there upon our arrival..luckily we were able to quickly find another service. Upon arrival at the hotel they could not have been more apologetic (although technically the service is not provided through them)..we received an immediate upgrade to our room and our shuttle on Sunday to the Cruise port was comped...the hotel itself is very cool...great location as well as great restaurants and bars to pass the time..check out the bar inside..have Ryan make you a "Burning Man" or one of his other secret recipe craft cocktails...again...great boutique hotel...definitely would make a return visit...

Room Tip: We stayed in the tower..9th floor balcony room...overlooked downtown area...no issues

Hi AlyKat2011,

Thank you so much for sharing on TripAdvisor! We're thrilled you enjoyed your stay, our lovely hotel and got to meet our stellar bartender, Ryan! We're often told to change the name to "Ryan's Bar". We hope you had a fabulous cruise and can't wait to see you back for hopefully a longer stay!
