Six of us arrived at 11am on 10/31/12 after coming back from a cruise out of Miami. Two of the 3 rooms were ready.. understandably that check in wasnt until 3pm. The 3rd within an hour! Wonderful front desk staff!

We spent the afternoon at the pool. Pool area is in back of hotel and is surrounded by trees and faces the river. Lots of lounge chairs in the sun and plenty of tables & chairs under cover. Lunch and cold drinks were a phone call away, and delivered pool side. Food was excellant. Pool area was very clean and quiet. Spent the afternoon swimming and watching the large boats traveling just feet away.

The Riverside location is in th middle of Las Olas Blvd.... surrounded by shops, boutiques and restaurants. All within walking distance. The Italian Bakery across the street was a little too handy! We had breakfast on the front porch.... was relaxing and very good. Food prices are very much on par with a quality hotel.

Lobby area is open, but cozy with a nice area around a working fireplace. There is a tropical garden with tables and chairs to gather and converse. The Business Center was very good and easy to work in. Also internet access is free to registered guests.

We were at the Riverside for 2 nights... and would be my first choice for my next visit to Fort Lauderdale. I would highly recommend the Riverside Hotel and look forward to my next visit.

Room Tip: We had rooms on the 3rd and 6th floors in the older section of the hotel. All have been re-done with...

We stayed at this hotel because we have relatives nearby, but if I were merely visiting Fort Lauderdale I would still choose this hotel. It is located on Las Olas Boulevard, a fun shopping, dining, entertainment, cultural area. We have been there in the past for an art fair. This time there was a bike race. You can walk to the beach from here, or the art museum. It is on the canal. There is frequently live entertainment nearby.

The hotel itself is very clean and well run. Some of the room overlook the intercoastal where you can watch all manner of water craft go by. This time we also saw a manatee in the canal. Some of the rooms are more spacious and modern than others, so you should inquire about that. The old pine with pineapple embellishment furniture is nice, but the bathrooms in that section are compact. There is a more modern section that gives you a higher view and a bit larger accommodations.

The restaurant is always hopping with both outdoor and indoor dining. The breakfasts were fresh and delicious.

All in all a lovely place to stay.

Room Tip: We liked being above the third floor and overlooking the intercoastal.

My husband and I spent the weekend of the boat show at the Riverside Hotel. The location was perfect for visiting the boat show ( within walking distance to the water taxi ) and enjoying the many galleries, stores and restaurants along Las Olas.

The hotel is typical "Old Florida" and can seem "quirky", especially in the original wing. Though not spacious, our room in the tower was clean and equipped with standard amenities. The view from the balcony was fabulous. The staff is very accommodating, housekeeping was quick to deliver the extra pillows we requested.

We loved planning our evenings over cocktails outside the hotel's Indigo Restaurant on Las Olas.

Room Tip: Request a tower room, the higher, the better

Had a great stay and were comfortable during the hurricane weather
Experienced internet connection challenges due to weather
Restaurant was the only drawback
The concierge was excellent with great suggestions and valet parking was equally well done

Room Tip: Ask specifically for a suite with internet connection and eat breakfast elsewhere

We love Ft Lauderdale! The last three years we have gone, we have stayed at the historic Riverside Hotel located on Los Olas Boulevard. It is beautiful, clean and everyone is so friendly. They go above and beyond. The view of the New River is breath taking from your balcony. The location is fantastic convenient to everything. The restaurant at the hotel is excellent. There are many resturants on Los Olas. Stroll along the River Walk. It's beautiful.

Room Tip: Highly recommend staying in the Executive Tower. The view is worth every penny!

Stayed here for five consecutive nights on a recent business trip. This was my second stay at this hotel. Great location and is close to many restaurants and pubs. Several new restaurants have opened in the last few months. The water taxi, stop #9, is just one and a half blocks behind the hotel. The water taxi is a great way to see Fort Lauderdale.

We took our German Shepard with us to the Las Olas Art Festival and ended up at high top on the sidewalk at the Golden Lyon. Being Sunday, they offered $3 Bloody Marys which we enjoyed all afternoon. Our server Aimee, was quite attentive, even though it was very, very busy. I was elated to have been allowed to enjoy a cigar as well. The Maine Lobster Roll on their menu was calling my name and I succumbed The meat was sweet, the mayo was in perfect balance and the roll was toasted to perfection. Although I forwent the french fries, I'm sure they were wonderful as well. Since this is a hotel review and not a restaurant review, I'll also say the prices are reasonable and their wine list extensive.

To wrap it up: Great food, great service, dog friendly, cigar friendly, extensive wine list.
