What we had was good (a special - duck and beef meatloaf), but they were "out" of quite a few things which was disappointing. Service wasn't horrible, but not very attentive. Overall, expected a better meal and experience.

food was delicious, staff was very accommodating. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. Creme Brulee was spectacular.

“Mediocre - sorry”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2012

We ordered Steak au Poivre, which is supposed to be a thick hunk of steak with peppercorns. What we got was at most 4 ounces of a roast-beef quality (that managed to be tough even though thinly sliced - since when is Steak au Poivre served sliced?), no pepper in sight, with a kind of brown sauce. I guess this is French food dumbed down for Florida tastes.
Felt more like a "see and be seen" place for Amelia Island residents, who made a big fuss about knowing the hostess / owner, especially since the place is so very small.
Even though it was small and it was a Friday night, there were plenty of empty seats.
Don't know what everyone was raving about; Honestly,I wish we had gone to Longhorn, where we can get a nice thick high quality steak at a reasonable price.

“As good as it gets”

We'd read the other reviews and they were right!
Charming, small, quaint restaurant with amazing service.
Staff is well-trained and very cordial.
I had a small Caesar salad followed by the scallops with pasta--perfect
My other half had the 3 course meal of Caesar salad, meatloaf made with tenderloin beef and duck with vegetables and mashed potatoes -- followed with an amazing chocolate cake

“Wow!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2012

What can I say that hasn't already been said. We made reservations the week before we ate here because we had heard so many positive things about Le Clos. I'm glad that we did, when we arrived there was a line outside, we were promptly seated. Seating is tight but tolerable, unfortunately what is annoying is the noise level. They need to do some sound proofing! Now on to the service and food, Julie was our waitress and she was excellent! She presented the specials along with customer favorites. My wife had the Salmon with Burre Blanc sauce which was perfect. Julie persuaded me to try the house special of meatloaf (ground Sirloin/Duck) who could have guessed such a treat at a French restaurant! This is a MUST GO to place.
