My daughter wanted to go to a super nice restaurant for the evening and every time I looked at surveys, and Trip Advisor, on line, Espana would pop up as the #1, best place to eat. When I looked at the website, it didn't look that classy to me, so I kept looking and found the Salt Restaurant at the Ritz. But, when calling for a reservation, couldn't get one until the next night at 9:00. (by the)way, it was great). So, what could I lose by calling for a reservation at Espana. They could take us that evening, but not until 8:30. Well, we headed out later for the restaurant, couldn't program it on the GPS we had, so finally stopped and asked directions. Hard to find, one way street, etc. in historic Amelia Island. Called to say we were lost and would be about 15 minutes late. They were very gracious, no problem, etc. When we got there I thought, uh oh, this doesn't look so hot. Couldn't see a front door, just a short side alley and the building is little and between two houses. Well, don't let this scare you. The place IS #1 for food, service, etc. Corey, our server was great, everyone in the place was having a good time and we were never rushed. Make sure you make your reservations for this place well in advance...but GO. You won't be disappointed.
