After asking a few local residents where to get some seafood we narrowed down the list historically and by location, covering Fernandina and Amelia.
Set in front of the railroad depot in downtown Fernandina-Marina's can actually take you back some years because of the decor and the hometown service. The sweet tea is very good, the fried butterflied shrimp quite flaky and buttery. The hush puppies are OK-better around the corner- at the Crab Trap (actually some of the best.)
Overall the food was good- great broiled clams, friend shrimp, great grouper and surprisingly creamy cheese grits. The only con- the price (the seafood platter is small for the price...)
An observation- their hours are great- they serve breakfast.
