Right on the water with a great view from the deck. Varied menu that included approx 10 special on a Sunday lunchtime. Very quick and polite. Children made to feel welcome and the small childrens menu has all the usuals.

Nothing special about the food, and the service was slow despite a small crowd. The fried shrimp was not nearly as good as the Crab Trap's. The asparagus was good. Good location if you're staying in the historic district.

With so many restaurants in Fernandina Beach serving lunch, it is difficult to decide where to dine. However, it was easy for many of my group members who wanted to dine along the river. We walked just over 100 yards from the Hampton Inn Historic Downtown hotel to Brett's Waterway Cafe. At first, we thought we would dine outside however, the wind was brisk which made it too cold for us "young" seniors. We decided to walk inside the restaurant to see if there was a large enough table for us. Immediately, the hostess found us a round table for the 6 of us. Logan, a real sweetheart of a waitress, took excellent care of us. From fish and chips, seafood quiche, pulled barbecue sandwich to thick bacon and cheddar on ciabiatta bread...everyone of our choices was superb. Crisp homemade potato chips that came with the bacon and cheddar sandwich was shared. They were soooo good. I ordered the peach bread pudding and with 5 more plates, the rest of the table enjoyed it too. The peaches were crispy making the bread pudding even more fantastic.

How can you beat a marvelous scenic view with delicious cuisine and excellent service. If you want the dining experience with the closeness of the river, you must dine at Brett's Waterway Cafe.

Tomorrow, we board American Cruise Line's Independence for a journey on the Intracoastal Waterway from Amelia Island to Charleston, SC and on to Baltimore, MD.. We've had a marvelous time in Fernandina Beach. Many of my group are taking home wonderful souveniers from the "Christmas on the River" shoppe. Weather was great, smiles were abundant...we had a terrific time in this quaint town.

If you have never visited Historic Downtown Fernandina Beach, you must do so...any season of the year.

Nice place on Amelia Island. We stumbled onto it while walking and browsing in the shops. View of waterway is very nice. There is outside seating, but it was a little cold that day!
