This hotel was hands down the best hotel to stay at. Not only is it across from the Marina, it is also on the Main Street of the historic district with many restaurants, shops and bars beginning from across the street and continuing a very short walk from the hotel. Upon checking in (12/29) I was greeted by Jenn who was very pleasant and helpful. The room was decorated nicely, very clean and spacious. The beds were very comfortable. The hotel is really beautiful and nostalgic. I have to admit I never heard the train whistle mentioned in other reviews but did hear the train once, however it didn't interfere with my sleep. The breakfast area is very charming and so tropically decorated. The food was very fresh and delicious. The breakfast crew was right on point refilling all that was needed and cleaning up. This will be my hotel every time I visit this area. Room 428 overlooks the pool and marina.

This hotel is located in the heart of the historic district within walking distance to all the shopping and great restaurants. We have stayed here twice and will probably be back again. It is always clean and the staff is great. You have to drive to the beach, but that's okay.

We went for a day trip with the thought of maybe staying one night if we could find a place during the Holidays. We did, and it turned out to be a great location with a nice place to stay. Close to shops, restaurants.

Only negative I can say about this place is it's a pricey.
Hotel is very nice and located within walking distance od historic downtown.
Hotel has a cocktail hour during the week were local restaurants bring in food, very good and gives you a free taste of restaurant to help you decide if you would like to eat there. Drinks are not free but at a reduced price, food is free.
Breakfast in morning is very good with a large selection.
One drawback is hotel is by railroad tracks and you can here trains.

We stay at many HI's and this is hands down #1! Within walking distance to downtown,beach,restaurants,docks--everything. Clean and comfortable. Many choices for breakfast. Unheated outside pool on 2nd floor. Staff is outstanding-welcoming and helpful.
However, the best thing about this establishment is the charm. I was told the owner decorated it herself and she did a marvelous job of making it homey. The lobby has built in bookshelves with fireplace and comfy seats(Christmas stockings hung on the mantle!). A beautiful winding staircase leads to the 2nd floor breakfast room which has arched painted ceilings that look like the skies over the ocean. Bronze flocks of seagulls (sculptures) hang in flight over the tables. There are detailed decorations throughout the hotel. The exterior is also painted Caribbean colors. I so appreciate the efforts, time and expense taken to make this Hampton a special destination.

Normally I would never review a chain hotel like a Hampton Inn because there all the same but this one had a little charm and a great location! I would love to give it a great review, like I said it's got some additional character that most business style hotels don't normally have, such as a pretty and locational appropriately decorated lobby and fire places in the jacuzzi tub rooms BUT I also have to advise there is a train 200 yards from the rooms that toots it's horn when need be; the noise did not wake me, I live in an area where trains are common but it bothered our friends that were traveling with us. So, nice hotel for a chain, good location but may be considered noisy...heads up. Hope this review helps you!

We stayed here while we were at the Petanque tournament in November. It was fantastic. The location, free breakfast, cocktail hour, cookies and customer service was outstanding. I hope to be back in years to come. Front desk staff were always helpful and accomodating. Our room was very comfortable and the view was outstanding. We stayed in a suite and it was more than roomy and comfortable. Within walking distance to all the restaurants and shops in the area, T-Rays too. We highly recommend thsi hotel and location.
