I have stayed at this Hampton Inn several times. It is a charming hotel - not your typical Hampton Inn in Historic Fernandina Beach. There is plenty to do in the area from boutique shopping to four-star dining. The rooms in the hotel are clean and roomy. The front desk staff is always helpful. If you are a light sleeper, I recommend a room that doesn't face the train tracks as the train gets loud very early in morning. The only small drawback is the lack of parking. I have had to park accross the street in the overflow parking area, which can get pretty messy on rainy days. Nevertheless, I recommend this hotel for a vacation!

My wife and i stayed here for almost a week to attend a conference at the Ritz Carlton Resort. We saved a ton of money by not staying there and had more fun as well. As they say, pictures don't do it justice. Beautiful building in historic location with views of the marina. Walking distance to unique shops and a wide variety of restaurants, varying from Mexican to Bistros to Italian to Low Country to Deli to Steak & Seafood extraordinaire. You can even hear the train whistle that delights you on occasion as it enters the historic downtown. Even the lobby has a unique, historic charm. The staff are all helpful and friendly. The breakfast they serve has belgium waffles, scrambled eggs, omelets, cereal, yogurt, fruit, and much more, in a nicely decorated room overlooking the pool and marina. Rooms are large and very quiet, with comfortable beds and pillows. Can't go wrong with this choice!

Room Tip: Ask for a water view room.

Really nice hotel with friendly staff. Continental breakfast was AMAZING! We parked and walked everywhere. Rented bikes and rode 10 minutes to the beach. We walked through the shops in town (1 block) and walked to restaurants as well. Clean rooms, nice pool and great location. We'll be back!

If you're looking for a neat place to spend a day or two, don't want to be on the beach, but want to be able to walk to stores, resturants, the marina, and galleries, the Hampton Inn in downtown Fernandina Beach, FL on Amelia Island is hard to beat!. Yet still an easy drive to the beach, the fort, the lighthouse, and the other sights and sites on the island.

A variety of room types, some with balcony's, some with jacuzzi tubs, some with fireplaces, and 1 bedroomsuites with kitchens.

I've stayed here several times and never been disappointed by the congenial staff, the clean rooms and public areas, and the great morning complementary breakfast!

Book early and come to the Shrimp festival the first weekend in May!

Room Tip: Be sure you are aware of ALL the options before selecting what's best for you.

This was our second stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites Amelia Island and it won't be our last. We had an amazing time. This hotel has the best location of any hotel on Amelia Island although it is not on the beach. The beach is just a 3-5 minute drive away. Once you park your car, you really don't need to leave until the next day depending on what your activities are. The marina is right across the street if you want to do some fishing or catch a boat tour. There are plenty of restaurants, bars and stores within walking distance. This quaint town really has it all. Great for families and couples. There is plenty of parking at the hotel and somehow we managed to get a covered spot all four nights of our stay. Breakfast was great and the same food as most Hampton Inns. We never had a problem with seating although at times we could see people waiting for a table or taking the food to their room. The room was spacious and we love the full kitchen in the suites. Although we didn't cook, the refrigerator was nice for our drinks and beer. The facilities were clean, the staff helpful, and overall another great experience and vacation. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family and will be staying here again on our next vacation to Amelia Island.

There is a train that runs by the hotel a few times a day. If you are on the train track side, you will hear it and feel it. I am a very light sleeper and never had any problems with the noise.

Room Tip: Ask if they have a room where you can see the marina, the sunsets are wonderful.
