I felt like I was in the middle of the swamp right inside of the city of Fernandina! There were two different trails to take and I saw only two people in 45 minutes. It was like exploring the swamp all alone with an amazing surrounding of nature at its best! I got some great phot!os

A wonderful fort from 1847. Don't need a whole day but certainly worth it! The views from up above are spectacular. Go in the morning in the Summer to avoid the rain since everything is outside!

This was a well maintained & very informative site to visit. There was a guide dressed as a Union soldier, who would answer any questions you might have.

We always have to visit this place. I have also camped on the beach side and the river side. Great places...I do prefer the river side it is shady. The beach side is on the beach not any shade...still nice. Adventure walking along the the shoreline of the river and beach(especially river)!

We enjoyed visiting the fort. The beach is beautiful with facilities, be prepared to walk a little and bring an umbrella. Camp site for trailers and tents. Beautiful tree lined road to bike ride in cooler weather. The entrance $6 per car and re-entry is allowed. Park closes at 8pm but the Fort closes around 5. Be sure to bring Bug Spray and Sunscreen and food. There are no places to buy food inside the park.
