My husband and I loved Lanna Thai - it was our "go-to" restaurant, and it never disappointed. Not realizing they were under new ownership, we headed over there...and saw the new name. Hopeful that it was only a change in name and not totality (lol), we headed in. Mistake.
We ordered some kind of curry patties that were in a very heavy dough...and then deep fried. If you're into a mouthful of vegetable oil, yum. If not, yuk. Maybe baking would've worked better - ? Also had their take on spring rolls...which were cold (not lukewarm: literally, cold) in the middle. My entree, which was some kind of chicken with string beans was good - except that it was served with what appeared to be a puddle of orange-y oil in the center. My husband got the pad thai...which came out with deep fried pieces of what we think was breaded tofu over the top, which we have never experienced before. And probably won't again, as we won't be going back.
The service didn't redeem the food in any way...our plates were practically full when we asked for the check and no one asked if something were wrong or if we wanted it wrapped...it was like they KNEW.
**Sigh.** We'll miss you, Lanna Thai.
