Byron and Debbie were very nice and they made us feel right at home. Gave us all the infornation to make our stay very enjoyable. The room was outstanding and very comfortable. Easy access to fine dining within walking distance too. The B&B was centrally located which made it easy to get to downtown and the beach area. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We'll be back.

Great room and service. Loved breakfast and talking with other guests at evening wine time. Stayed here 14 years ago, just as good now. Room with hot tub was a blast.
Amelia Island is wonderful and quiet for a get away.

Dec. 24-27
Bed and Breakfast
We stayed at the Williams House through a package deal that included a Christmas buffet, a wine hour each night, and a carriage ride on Christmas eve. Our room contained snacks and water. The cost was $825+. The buildings and grounds are beautiful. Our room, Catherine's Chambers, was impressive with its large bath and lovely colors. The room was clean and in good repair, but daily housekeeping is minimal. This was not an issue for us.

The proprietors are pleasant but not very talkative. For instance, we did not find out until Friday that there was a coffee machine and an ice machine on the second floor. Breakfasts consisted mostly of processed carbs, so if you are a sweets eater you would be in your glory. Christmas buffet was good but not particularly memorable.

It is obvious that the owners work very hard. Overall, our experience was a good one and I would recommend the B&B to anyone.

My family just returned from a wonderful Christmas vacation to
Amelia Island, Florida. Our stay at the Amelia Island Williams House was a terrific experience. We had never traveled away from home during Christmas but decided to have an adventure this year.
Instead of the usual Christmas stress and expense we gave ourselves a gift of being together and letting someone else do the cooking and cleaning. I researched several bed and breakfasts and the owners of the Williams house put together a unique and relaxing Christmas getaway for their guests. The beautiful home and guest houses are even more striking in person than the beautiful photos on line. Every room in the house was decorated for Christmas! We were greeted with a Christmas sack of candy, homemade goodies and treats in our rooms. Our bedrooms and bathrooms were attractive, comfortable, and every imaginable need was thought of and provided. Byron and Deborah and their staff were friendly and welcoming but knew when to give us our space. They were helpful in advising us about activities on the island. The location of the B and B was a plus because we were able to walk or bike to almost everything we did. The food was delicious and plentiful at meal time. Christmas Eve was special because after having delicious finger foods and wine we were whisked off in a beautiful horse drawn carriage for a tour of the town. Christmas day we enjoyed breakfast and then at 3:00 a fabulous southern Christmas meal was served buffet style. The weather was so warm we ate outside on the patio at our leisure. It was 85 degrees that day! We stayed for 3 nights and it was magical.
Our daughters , ages 17 and 22 were very happy with our plans and we all would go back again. They were sold out that week and I can understand why. I would definitely recommend the Williams House.

  • Liked — location and the beautiful house and grounds
  • Disliked — needed to stock the mini fridge upstairs with bottled water and sodas and provide some crackers or other small snacks

With the holiday decorations up and the fireplace on in our 2 room suite (Macgregor Aury Room) things couldn't have been cozier for our one-night birthday getaway. The inn is so quaint and well-maintained...beautiful old Victorian home with a fabulous location in the heart of Fernandina. Steps from Centre St. and fabulous shopping/restaurants. Breakfast is gourmet and served in front of a roaring fire during our stay. The room was clean, beautifully furnished and extremely comfortable! We wish we could have stayed longer and we will certainly return! Only suggestion...ask where the thermostat to the room is...it got into the 30s that night and we couldn't find the thermostat!!! Got a little chilly ... turns out it was in the hall outside our door!!

  • Liked — The fireplaces and holiday decorations!
  • Disliked — Only staying one night!

Last March we contacted the William House, and asked about a private wedding ceremony. We received an immediate positive response from the owners, and we booked immediately. Our experience from beginning to end was wonderful. The Inn and rooms look exactly as photos show on their web site www.williamshouse.com. We stayed in Macgregor Aury Stateroom, and found to be truly delightful. We enjoyed the gas fireplace and the adjoining sitting room.

We were given a tour of most of the rooms at this wonderful B&B, and again found them to be exactly as seen. Breakfast was a unique and tasteful experience. We loved the wine hour and the inter action with the other guests. The owners arranged for a private carriage ride giving us a tour of the Historic District. It was a wonderful hour, and the driver was full of informative information.

Our only negative experience was the $141.00 meal for Thanksgiving at the Beech Street Grill. Yes, that was for two with one glass of wine. The three course meal was a fix price of $50.00 per person plus an automatic 20% gratuity. The atmosphere at the restaurant, food presentation, and service left a lot to be desired. It was basically the only game in town! To say the least, this was truly a “High Price Turkey Dinner”!
