We enjoyed our stay at the Addison. Shannon and Bob were a delight. Our room was very clean and well maintained. The bed was super comfortable. The decor was tasteful and the room had plenty of natural light. We especially enjoyed the social hour and looked forward to meeting up with the other guests. The breakfasts and appetizers served during the social hour were 5-Star quality. Highly recommend.

From the moment we walked in the front door and were greeted with a smile from Lee we felt right at home. Bob and Shannon couldn't have been nicer and accommodated our special nutritional needs (nut allergy). Breakfast was bountiful and deliciously gourmet. Shannon is such a wonderful cook. Happy hour was fun with good wine and beer, yummy appetizers and engaging conversation. We really enjoyed Bob's stories. The inn is cozy and gorgeous and couldn't have been cleaner. We had an absolutely wonderful stay and will be back again. The only regret...was that we had to leave.

From the moment we arrived for our 3-night stay, Bob & Shannon made us feel right at home. Our room, like the rest of the inn, was bright and clean and impeccably maintained. Everything is decorated tastefully and comfortably - no tacky floral wallpapers or overly stuffy curtains and linens like a lot of other inns and hotels. I loved our blue ceiling and private porch facing Ash Street was perfect for taking a break from sight-seeing in the middle of the day or relaxing in the mornings. (I even had a friendly cat from across the street visit me on morning). Shannon makes amazing breakfasts - the food was not only delicious but substantial enough that we skipped lunch most days. There was always water and snacks stocked in the house and happy hour every evening was a great way to get to know the other guests and hear the local gossip from Bob or get ideas for where to eat dinner.

The inn is a short walk to downtown and the marina, and a very short drive or bike ride to the beaches and Fort Clinch on the other side of the island. Bob & Shannon think of everything - from beach towels and chairs to bicycles - so you don't need to worry about anything. I recommend this place to anyone staying on Amelia Island. I wouldn't stay anywhere else if I go back.

As for Amelia Island in general: it was clearly low season and we had some iffy weather the first two days but it cleared up by the end of our stay and it was always comfortable. Unfortunately this affected our plans to go out to Cumberland Island on a ferry (they will cancel trips if there aren't enough reservations), but there was still plenty to keep us busy for the entire time we were there. My husband even found a few shark teeth on the beach on our last night.

This is a real gem. Beautiful property with wonderful hosts. The rooms were lovely, with little touches that make the stay special. Bob and Shannon were very friendly and welcoming and the breakfasts were so good it was worth leaving the comfort of the luxurious bedroom. Evening drinks and snacks were the perfect way to set you up for a meal at one of the many excellent restaurants in walking distance. A great find.

If you are going to Fernandina Beach or elsewhere on Amelia Island, this is the place to stay. Innkeepers Bob and Shannon have a superb inn, that caters to couples for short or extended stays. Well maintained and all the amenities you need, The Addison is a first-rate destination. Breakfast, which varies daily, was a terrific way to start the day. The food was superb, every day, and if you wanted something different, I know they would have tried to prepare it. Round-the-clock beverages, coffee, cookies, chips and all the things you need. Inn had 14 rooms, ours was superb. Clean, clean, clean...and with all you need. Cable, WiFi, great balcony, jetted tub and everything that made our stay memorable. Afternoon happy hours were a great time to get acquainted, with beer and wind and good fellowship. Have no complaints about The Addison, would definitely return there on our next opportunity. Go and stay with Shannon and Bob, and you won't be disappointed. Les and Rhonda.

Room Tip: Room 14 has a great balcony, book early for the best choice. Photos of all the rooms are a big help...

Once again another return visit to this beautiful Bed and Breakfast. Our past experiences have been excellent and most enjoyable and we are delighted to say that this year the same high standards of hospitality have been maintained. Our room was extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfasts are exceptional - delicious. With lots to do on the Island and an amazing beach.
We look forward to our next visit.

Room Tip: All rooms are delightful and beautifully furnished
