“Happy Anniversary.. We will be back...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 11, 2014

My husband and I spent only two short nights at Elizabeth Pointe Lodge. We did not want to leave. It was our anniversary and we wanted beach and relaxation. Well, we got much more. Upon arrival , a split of champagne to celebrate our anniversary,(my husband must have mentioned it when he made the reservation) A nice room, clean and the bed was divine. We could not get a ocean front room which was the only problem I had, we called late and they were full. However when we go back we will make reservations in advance and get that magnificent view. The complimentary breakfast was five star. I have been to many hotels, motels, & B&B's, such thought and care went into this. The staff, especially Luann, helped us with whatever we wanted or needed. Dinner reservations, Ice, Information and even a bandaid for my broken nail. And the happy hour was also very nice. I mean you cannot beat sitting on a rocker on a beautiful deck looking at the ocean having a glass of wine and horderves, again complimentary. I think for the price you get a little piece of heaven. This a.m I sat on the deck with my delicious coffee and complimentary newspaper, watching the waves . And then on to the really special breakfast. Let me add, yes a refrig would be great, and maybe a coffee machine. But we did not really miss it ,because everything was just a floor away. Elizabeth Pointe, I think you are doing great. We will be back again, for sure.

Room Tip: We did not have one, but I am thinking ocean front is the way to go,,

My husband and I stayed at Elizabeth Pointe for five nights as part of a vacation to celebrate my husband's special birthday and yes it was 'special'. We had a beautiful room with views of the gorgeous beach and ocean. Breakfast each day was delicious with lots of choice and 'Happy Hour, between 6 - 7pm is very enticing and a lovely way to relax on the porch before going for dinner. We found the majority of the staff very helpful and friendly. The owner gave us a lift to dinner one evening saving us the cab fare which was very kind and thoughtful. Some very small things which could be improved upon, hence the 'very good' score and not excellent are : the water as mentioned by others, a small bottle each night and not just one the first night would be a nice touch and considering the cost per night I don't think it is too much to ask; a small fridge in the rooms; a safe in the rooms; sufficient sun beds to accommodate all guests - as one day we could not get a seat on the beach until late afternoon. Our thanks to the owners and staff for making our trip memorable for all the right reasons.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the beach are a must.

We have stayed in many Inns in our travels, if you check my reviews they are overwhelmingly rated Excellent. That is why I was so surprised at the change in the Elizabeth Pointe since the new owners took over. They make it sovery clear that their making money trumps their making return customers.
When we booked we were assured that they would accept B&B.Com gift cards for the full amount. They were very clear on that and had done it in the past. So we purchased cards for the entire $900. When we got there they told us that it was under new ownership and even though they were aware this had been promised to us, only $300 would be honored. Our trip now cost us $180 more than we expected. They should have made some attempt to honor it. Even if B&B.com only accepted $300, they should have lowered their price accordingly or called us and told us before we got there. Then, the woman at the desk told me she called Costco and they would take back the unused amount. When we went to Costco, we found that to be untrue.
They place umbrellas on the beach every morning. When we asked, they would not put two umbrellas together. This meant we had to sit 15 feet from our friends. AND the umbrellas were shredded and threadbare. Definitely, not giving us a feeling of a luxury vacation! The rooms were fine, They were clean, but nothing special or spacious.
They only gave you bottled water in the room on the first day. Then, it was a $1 per bottle/day. $300 a night and then you won't give your guests water. Gimme a break, you're going to nickel and dime your guests. So unclassy!
They gave us a smaller room, not the room that they had guaranteed us when we booked. After we unpacked we had to move to the larger room the next day. Apparently, someone else booked it, too, and got preference.Packing and unpacking is not relaxing! Then, we had to fight with them when we checked out, because they wouldn't credit us the amount for the cheaper room. They wanted us to pay for the larger room on the nights we didn't get it.
The people working there seemed unhappy and unsmiling. The woman who was overseeing the breakfast room looked obviously miserable in her job and only there because she had to be. Everyone at breakfast, everyday we were there, commented on it.
Thank goodness I did not have a road facing room. The people in those rooms were complaining that they couldn't open their windows due to the noise. It is not a pretty view out of those rooms. They overlook a delapidated empty lot and stores. They could not hear the ocean at all.

In closing, we have been here many times before, but will never be here again. If they promise you something, get it in writing. Even then, good luck to you.

Room Tip: There are no balconies on the rooms facing the ocean. DO NOT take a room facing the road because of...

The events listed by the reviewer are unfounded and false. The policy concerning this particular gift card mentioned states “the gift card’s company’s” specific policy as it relates to the number of cards which can be used during one visit. On the actual gift card purchased states the maximum number of gift cards to be used per visit. This has nothing to do with old ownership vs new ownership or of our hotel at all. We accepted the number of gift cards with the amount specified under the guidelines. The reviewer simply purchased a gift card that has the policy of the gift card company clearly stated on it and as a business we must follow the guidelines that the reviewer agreed to at the time of purchase or risk not being paid by the gift card company. In addition, this reviewer was never told by any member of staff, old or new, that we would honor the gift cards; she was referred to the policy written on back of the purchased gift cards prior to booking. It was not until the reviewer discovered the hotel was under new ownership that this issue surfaced. It is unfortunate that this reviewer has chosen to attack us with several reviews from one visit. We stand by the fact that these reviews hold no merit and trust that readers can easily identify the fabrication of events. The other issues mentioned by this reviewer do not warrant a response.

I learned how to relax at Elizabeth Point Lodge! Wonderful staff, facilities, location, weather!
Listening to the ocean whilst relaxing on a bed on the beach, or watching the sea from the porch was blissful and I already want to go back!

Room Tip: Choose an Ocean room to get a sea view.

Our first stay and we have nice memories! The inn was relaxing and a great place to enjoy our anniversary. Here are some tips to help your place improve as I'm sure any small business would like to know about:
Check in at 3:00 was met with an empty cookie jar and low drinks. That was not a good first impression. Also, it would be nice to have mini fridges in the rooms to keep our drinks cool. Please consider making your Happy Hour start at 5:00pm. Most people like to be at dinner by 6:00pm and that's what time HH starts at this Inn. Also, add to your menu for HH. We always got 2 choices with one day being white crusty carrots to dip with :(. Not appealing. Wine and beer were very nice. Take the baking soda out of your cookies! Leaves the worst after taste. Appreciate the effort, but such an easy fix! Praise for the chef at breakfast. Loved all of it. Breakfast worker needs to be a little less obvious. Clanging plates and making too much noise distracts the visitors to feeling like we needed to rush and get out!

Thank you and we hope you have continued success!

I found the accommodations clean and comfortable, the location on the beach absolute perfection, the breakfast and lunch just right and the personnel extremely helpful, personable and knowledgeable about the area and what it has to offer. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Elizabeth Pointe Lodge to any of my family or friends and look forward to another visit.

We stayed 2 nights in a king ocean view room. It had a breathtaking view of the ocean and the amenities in the room were adequate.the sun coming up whilst lying in our bed looking out was sensational and worth the extra for the room.

I agree with many of the other reviews with regard to the peacefulness of the inn, the excellent food, the wine hour , the friendliness of the staff etc. however I would also agree with Michelle from Florida that one of the staff was rather bustling in her service and took away from the relaxation of the breakfast. The chef gave excellent service when requesting omelettes, etc not on the buffet.the choice of food was excellent. We had lunch as well and it too was very good.

This was our first time here so cannot comment on its previous history or owners. I would agree change is a good thing but do not change the things that people come here for.peace relaxation service, etc. a bottle of water is more useful than a turn down service !!! Not sure if our room had the new sheets etc but what we had was comfortable and matched any 5 star hotels we have stayed in.

This inn appealed to us because it was different and had charm. Yes it was in a row of other properties and we had expected it to be on its own but it did not detract from it and the beach amenities were superb.

Room Tip: Front ocean view to see the sun rise.
